What does an hourly maid cost in Mushrifah?
Prices in Mushrifah start at SAR 138 for four hours with one maid. Because most homes here are family homes with plenty of rooms, the table focuses on the options large households use most:
Pick the row closest to your home, then send us the details so we can confirm the amount:
| Visit type | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Four hours, one maid | Mid-size family flat or a regular weekly clean | 138 |
| Six hours, one maid | Four-bedroom flat, or the house after a gathering | 204 |
| Eight hours, one maid | A large home that needs a full working day | 274 |
| Two maids for four hours | Roughly the eight-hour workload in half the time | 296 |
| 8 visits a month | Two four-hour visits every week | 885 |
| 12 visits a month | Three four-hour visits a week for a big family | 1,325 |
Eight hours with one maid versus four hours with two: the second finishes the house sooner, which matters if guests are coming in the evening and you want everything ready by mid-afternoon. The first costs a little less and suits anyone not in a hurry. Monthly subscriptions lower the cost per visit — on the 12-visit plan each visit comes to about SAR 110 instead of 138.
Before you work out the cost
The final amount reflects visit length, number of maids, home size and the slot you choose. Friday and holiday bookings, and any evening supplement, are explained when you book; for anything not in the table, ask us the price on WhatsApp.
Mushrifah homes: family flats above shops and renovated older houses
Mushrifah is a central Jeddah district crossed by King Fahd Road, with well-known routes such as Madinah Road, Prince Majed Road and Al-Makarona Street running through or close by. Ar-Rabwah lies to its north, and Al-Aziziyah, Ash-Sharafiyah and Al-Hamra border it on other sides. That position makes it a busy district where apartment blocks mix with shops and showrooms on the main roads, while the inner streets where families live are calmer.
Most housing in Mushrifah is rented family apartments, many in buildings with shops on the ground floor. There are also older homes built by Jeddah families long ago and later renovated — high ceilings, mosaic or vintage marble floors and generous guest majlis rooms. These houses need different care: old floors do not like acidic products, tall ceilings gather dust on fans and light fittings, and big majlis rooms take time to vacuum and rearrange.
So for most Mushrifah families we do not suggest the two-hour visit; it is not enough for a home with four bedrooms, a majlis and a lounge. Four hours is the sensible starting point for a regular clean, and six hours or two maids if you want the whole house done in one go.
Getting to your door in Mushrifah: entrances and parking
Buildings facing Mushrifah’s commercial streets often have their residential entrance at the side or rear, away from the shopfronts, and a driver who does not know that can circle the block twice. We ask residents to share a map pin plus one line about the entrance — “door next to the pharmacy” or “entrance from the back street”.
- Give the floor and flat number, and say whether there is a lift or stairs only.
- If you live in an older villa with an iron gate, tell us whether to knock or phone you.
- Rush hour on the shopping streets can add a few minutes, but the visit time only begins once the maid is inside.
- A mobile number for someone at home who will answer the driver saves everyone time.
One maid or two for a large family?
This table is based on what our Mushrifah customers actually book and should help you pick before you call:
| Household and home | What we suggest | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Couple and a child, two-bedroom flat | One maid, 4 hours weekly | Work never piles up within a week |
| Family of five, four-bedroom flat | One maid for 6 hours, or two visits a week | Laundry and kitchen fill up fast |
| Older family house with a big majlis | Two maids for 4 hours | One on majlis and lounge, one on kitchen and bedrooms |
| Large family with relatives every weekend | 12-visit monthly plan | Before guests, after guests, and a laundry day |
A simple rule: if the house has more than two bathrooms and a guest majlis, two maids for four hours get through what one maid manages in a long day, and the result is tidier because each focuses on her own part of the house.

Getting the house ready for guests in Mushrifah
Weekend family gatherings are part of life in many Mushrifah homes, and an hourly maid saves you a whole day of preparation. Before guests arrive she vacuums the majlis and rugs, wipes the side tables, polishes the coffee pots and serving trays, and sets out tissues and fresh towels in the bathrooms.
During the gathering she can stay on to serve tea and coffee, swap plates and keep on top of the washing-up in the kitchen, so you are not facing a mountain of dishes once everyone leaves. Afterwards she puts the seating back, vacuums up crumbs and mops the floors; if the evening runs late, book that part for the next morning.
A workable plan for a gathering
Book six hours starting about three hours before guests arrive: two hours of preparation, the rest for serving and washing up during the visit. For a large crowd, two maids beat extending the hours.
Oven cleaning and baked-on grease
In big households the oven gets heavy use, and grease builds up until it carbonises and is hard to shift. Cleaning the inside is possible within the visit and usually takes about an hour depending on its state.

The maid first takes out the racks and tray and soaks them in hot water with a degreaser, then scrubs the inner walls and the glass door with a non-scratch sponge, wipes around the knobs and handles, and finishes by polishing the glass inside and out. We only ask that the oven is completely cold before the visit; if you have a favourite oven cleaner, leave it out for her.
The cooker hood often comes next: its metal filter can be removed, soaked and refitted, but cleaning the ducting inside the wall is not part of a visit.
Changing bed linen and tidying bedrooms
In a family home with four or five bedrooms, changing the bedding alone takes real time, which is why many customers dedicate a visit to it every two weeks.

The maid strips the used linen and loads the washing machine, turns the mattresses if you want, wipes the headboard and bedside tables, then lays fresh sheets and arranges the pillows. On longer visits she hangs the washing when the cycle ends, folds it and puts it back in the cupboard before she leaves. With two maids working the big bed together, the sheet goes on taut and wrinkle-free and they move between rooms twice as fast.
What a visit covers in a family home — and what it does not
In Mushrifah the maid takes care of everything inside the home. These are the jobs families ask for most:
- Vacuuming majlis rooms and rugs and mopping floors with a product that suits the surface.
- Kitchen work: dishes, worktops, hob, and the inside of the oven or fridge on request.
- Bathrooms in full: tiles, basins, mirrors and floors.
- Washing, hanging, folding and ironing clothes.
- Inside window glass, doors and handles.
- Setting up hospitality, serving at occasions and cleaning up afterwards.
- Pre-Ramadan and pre-Eid preparation, plus move-in and move-out cleans.
Jobs outside a visit
No full meal cooking, no sole responsibility for children or elderly relatives, no outside walls or dangerous high spots, and no moving heavy wardrobes or sofas. We ask that one of the women of the house stays at home throughout.
Ramadan and Eid in Mushrifah homes
About two weeks before Ramadan demand in the district rises, as families get the house ready for iftar gatherings and suhoor, wash light curtains and polish the serveware that only comes out on special occasions. The best approach is a long visit or two maids before Ramadan for a thorough clean, then weekly visits during the month.
During Ramadan working times usually shift to suit fasting, so we agree the right slot with you when you book. Before Eid, book early because slots fill quickly; the work then is mostly majlis rooms, guest rooms and entrance areas.
Rental flats in Mushrifah: move-in and move-out cleans
Because renting is the norm in the district, requests to clean a flat before a new tenant arrives or after the old one leaves come up often. This is heavier than routine cleaning: an empty flat reveals dust in the corners, scuff marks low on the walls and old kitchen grease, so we suggest eight hours with one maid or four hours with two.
- Inside the kitchen units: cupboards, drawers and shelves before any crockery goes in.
- Bathrooms top to bottom, with limescale lifted from taps and mirrors.
- Windows, frames, doors, handles and the outside of switch plates.
- Floors swept and mopped more than once until the dust film is gone.
If you own a building in Mushrifah and are preparing several flats for rent, back-to-back visits to more than one flat on the same day can be arranged — ask about the price on WhatsApp.
Common mistakes when booking a maid for a big house
What wastes time on family-home visits is rarely a slow maid; it is booking with expectations that do not match the hours. A few lessons from visits in the district:
- Four hours for a whole house after a long gap: the first visit needs longer; after that, four hours a week is usually enough.
- Asking for everything at once: set priorities and leave cupboards and the oven for another visit.
- Forgetting to mention the majlis: a large majlis with rugs and seating can take an hour on its own.
- Not showing where things are: pointing out the vacuum and products at the start saves at least fifteen minutes.

- 1Message us on WhatsApp 0561940026 or ring directly, and say the home is in Mushrifah.
- 2Size of the home bedrooms, majlis rooms and bathrooms, and whether it is a flat or a house.
- 3Choose people and hours one maid or two; four, six or eight hours; or a monthly plan.
- 4Describe the entrance send the pin and a line explaining which door to use.
- 5Follow up afterwards tell us how it went, and ask for the same maid if you liked her work.

Who are the maids who come to Mushrifah?
Our maids come from African countries — Kenya and Uganda among them — and from Bangladesh, and who is free varies day to day, so we confirm who is available when we lock in your slot. All work legally on valid residence permits, are trained in cleaning and organising homes, and keep to a modest work uniform.
In large family homes we make sure the maid understands the household: she asks before entering rooms, leaves elderly relatives’ belongings where they are, and handles antiques and old serveware carefully. If you have a comment on how she worked, send it to us and we will pass it on before the next visit.
Irregular domestic workers: what the rules say
The rules are clear that a family is responsible for whoever it lets in to work. The Domestic Workers Regulation prohibits an employer from letting their domestic worker work for someone else, with a penalty of a fine of up to SAR 20,000 or a recruitment ban of up to three years. Al Watan newspaper has reported that the Ministry of Human Resources penalised 222 employers for letting domestic workers work for others.
As for using a worker who breaks residency rules or has absconded from her sponsor, the General Directorate of Passports sets penalties of up to six months in prison and a fine of up to SAR 100,000, multiplied by the number of workers. That is why we advise Mushrifah families to always book through a company that is accountable for the maid’s legal status and transport — never an anonymous advert or someone knocking on the door.
