Where is Ar-Rabwah, and why do its homes need different things?
Ar-Rabwah is a residential district of Jeddah bounded by King Fahd Road on the west and Prince Majed Road on the east, with An-Nuzhah to its north and Mushrifah to its south; Al-Makarona Street and Al-Thalatheen Street run through it. Sitting between two main roads makes it easy to reach from central and north Jeddah, which keeps travel time short for the maid and driver.
What sets Ar-Rabwah apart from its neighbours is its clearly mixed housing: family villas with courtyards and several floors, alongside apartment buildings where many units are generous three- or four-bedroom flats. The inner streets are leafy and relatively quiet, while those facing the main roads are busier. That variety means the first question when booking here is not “when?” but “how many hours does my home really need?”.
A large flat is usually fine with a weekly visit of four or six hours. A villa with separate men’s and women’s majlis rooms, bedrooms upstairs and a big kitchen needs a full working day, or two maids sharing the floors. Both options are set out in numbers below.
Hourly maid prices in Ar-Rabwah, Jeddah
We have picked the rows that villa and large-flat residents in the district book most; the figures are where each price begins:
| Visit type | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| 4 hours, one maid | Spacious flat on a regular weekly clean | 138 |
| 6 hours, one maid | Four-bedroom flat or one floor of a villa | 204 |
| 8 hours, one maid | A whole villa at a steady pace | 274 |
| Two maids, 4 hours | Villa done before noon or before evening guests | 296 |
| 12 visits a month | Three times a week, four hours each time | 1,325 |
| An hour beyond the booking | Added to any visit if needed | 52 |
The 12-visit subscription is the one villa families in Ar-Rabwah ask for most: three visits a week keep the majlis rooms, kitchen and bathrooms clean all the time, and each visit works out at about SAR 110. Households happy with one thorough clean a week tend to choose eight hours with one maid, or two maids for four.
Factors that change the amount
How many hours, how many maids, the size and state of the home, and which slot. Friday and holiday visits, and any evening difference, are made clear when you book. Need a service not in the table? Ask its price on WhatsApp.
One-off visit, monthly plan or live-in maid?
An informational comparison of the common options in Jeddah — note that we provide hourly visits only:
| Option | Suits | What the household commits to |
|---|---|---|
| One-off hourly visit | A clean before an occasion or after travel | Paying for the hours only |
| Monthly visit plan | A home that needs regular weekly care | A set number of visits per month |
| Live-in maid (not offered by us) | Families needing help around the clock | Accommodation, salary, recruitment and employer duties |
Most Ar-Rabwah homes, villas included, find the monthly plan a good middle ground: the house stays clean on a schedule, with no room set aside for a maid and no long commitments. You can add visits before Ramadan and the holidays, or pause them while the family travels in summer.
How many hours do Ar-Rabwah villas and flats need?
These are estimates for a lived-in home in normal condition; a first visit after a long break takes a little longer:
Three-bedroom flat
Four hours a week covers rooms, kitchen, bathrooms and laundry.
Four-bedroom flat or duplex
Six hours, or two four-hour visits a week.
Two-storey villa
Eight hours with one maid, or two maids for four hours splitting the floors.
Villa with two majlis rooms and an annex
Two maids plus an hour or two extra, or the 12-visit plan.
Outdoor annexes and courtyards are not part of a visit unless they are inside the roofed house — the maid works indoors only. If your villa has a long marble staircase, allow for it: mopping it step by step takes about half an hour.

Setting the lunch table and hosting in Ar-Rabwah homes
Many Ar-Rabwah families gather for Friday lunch or a weekend dinner, and an hourly maid helps with everything around the meal without doing the cooking. Before the meal she sets the table — plates, glasses, napkins and serving pieces — wipes the chairs and makes sure the dining room is spotless. Afterwards she clears, washes up, and cleans the kitchen and floor.
For bigger occasions, such as receiving relatives at Eid or a small engagement at home, she prepares the majlis, serves coffee, tea and dates, refreshes the trays, then takes care of the clean-up once guests leave. If someone is cooking at home, she keeps the pots and pans washed as they go so the kitchen never piles up.
Cleaning inside the kitchen cabinets
Upper and lower kitchen cabinets slowly collect dust, grease film and crumbs, especially in large kitchens with plenty of crockery. Cleaning them inside can be done within a visit and is worth doing every two or three months.

The maid works one cabinet at a time so the kitchen never turns into chaos: she lifts out plates and jars and lines them up on the counter, wipes the shelves inside with a mild degreaser, dries the wood thoroughly so it does not swell, then returns everything — grouping similar items together if you ask. Very high cupboards she reaches from a small, safe step; anything beyond that she does not climb to.
Make it a now-and-then job
On a four-hour visit you can set aside an hour and a half for the cabinets and leave the rest for routine cleaning. For a very large kitchen, split the cabinets across two visits.
Ironing thobes and shemaghs in Ar-Rabwah
Pressing men’s thobes is a standing request in the district’s homes, especially before the working week or an occasion. The maid irons the collar, sleeves and button placket carefully and hangs each thobe straight away so it does not crease again.

A white thobe needs an iron with a clean soleplate at the right heat for the fabric, while shemaghs and ghutras are pressed on a lower setting. Please have the thobes washed and dried, and hangers ready. If you have new thobes in a delicate fabric, tell the maid so she can test a small area on the inside first.
A working day in an Ar-Rabwah villa: an 8-hour example
To picture how eight hours get used in a two-storey villa, here is a running order many of our customers in the district follow — adjust it to your priorities:
- Hour 1: a short tour of the house with whoever is in charge at home, then gathering laundry and starting the machine.
- Hours 2–3: upstairs bedrooms and their bathrooms.
- Hour 4: hanging the washing, then the staircase and corridors.
- Hours 5–6: majlis rooms and lounge — vacuuming, mopping and dusting.
- Hour 7: kitchen, dining room and guest bathroom.
- Hour 8: folding and ironing, putting clothes away, and a final check.
With two maids for four hours the same plan splits in two: one takes the upper floor and laundry, the other the ground floor and kitchen, and they meet at the end for the final check.
What a visit includes and excludes
Included
Cleaning and tidying, sweeping and mopping, kitchen and dishes, bathrooms, laundry, ironing and folding, inside window glass, vacuuming majlis rooms and rugs, serving at occasions and cleaning afterwards, Ramadan and Eid preparation, move-in and move-out cleaning.
Not included
Full cooking, being left in sole charge of children or older relatives, exterior façades and high places, courtyards and gardens, and moving heavy furniture.
Ideally a woman of the family is around while the maid works, so she can steer the priorities and keep everyone comfortable.
After a long trip: getting the villa back in shape
Many Ar-Rabwah families travel for weeks over the summer and come back to a closed-up house with dust settled on the furniture and floors, and perhaps a fridge holding things past their date. The first visit after returning differs from a weekly one, because the maid has to lift a layer of dust from everywhere before the normal clean.
For this we suggest two maids for four hours or an eight-hour visit, starting by airing the house and dusting from top to bottom — shelves, frames and the tops of wardrobes — then vacuuming sofas and rugs, then the floors. In the kitchen the fridge is emptied and cleaned and anything left in the sink is washed. After that visit the weekly plan goes back to its usual length.
Before you leave, too
A short visit before departure to empty the fridge, wash the bedding and cover the furniture makes the return visit lighter and quicker.
Pausing and restarting your plan with the family calendar
The advantage of hourly visits is that they follow your life rather than the other way round. In busy seasons such as Ramadan, Eid and the return to school you can move from one visit a week to two or three, and while you travel you can pause. A WhatsApp message with enough notice is all it takes, and we set up the new schedule with you.
Where a villa is home to more than one generation, the visits can be split by floor: one for the ground floor and majlis rooms, another for bedrooms and laundry, so not everything lands on the same day.
Morning or evening: which slot suits Ar-Rabwah?
There are two slots: morning and evening. In villas with children at school many mothers prefer mornings, when the house is quiet and work moves faster; where both partners work, evenings fit better. The maid’s arrival time is agreed at booking, and visit time is counted from when she steps inside.
To change the time or ask for a different maid, coordinate with us on WhatsApp with enough notice before the visit. Friday and holiday visits, and any evening fee, are confirmed with you when you book.
Steps to book an hourly maid in Ar-Rabwah
- 1Start the conversation call or write on WhatsApp 0561940026 that the home is in Ar-Rabwah.
- 2Say what kind of home a villa and its number of floors, or a flat and its bedrooms and bathrooms.
- 3Choose the arrangement one-off or subscription, one maid or two, and the slot you want.
- 4Share the location with the villa or building number and the floor.
- 5Rate the visit and let us know if you would like the same maid in future.
The maid turns up with her basic cleaning equipment, and products are decided when we agree the visit. A maid you get on with can be requested again, and we send her as her schedule allows.
The maids: where they are from and how they work
The maids we send to Ar-Rabwah are of African nationalities, such as Kenyan and Ugandan, and Bangladeshi, and the nationalities on offer change with availability at the time you book. They hold current iqamas under a lawful employer, have training in looking after homes and villas, and dress in a modest work uniform.
In large villas especially, we ask the maid to keep the house as it is: no rearranging ornaments or frames, no opening private drawers, and checking before using any product on marble or natural wood. Any comment you have, we pass to her before the next visit.
Booking legally protects you from fines
Supplying domestic workers to others for a fee is an activity overseen by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development; an individual may not rent out their own housemaid to another home. Under the Domestic Workers Regulation, a sponsor who lets that happen can be fined as much as SAR 20,000, or barred from bringing in new workers for a period of up to three years.
Taking on a helper whose residency status is irregular is a bigger problem again. The General Directorate of Passports lists jail of as long as six months and a penalty that can hit SAR 100,000 per worker for anyone found employing, housing or driving such a person. The safer path is to book from a provider that answers for the maid’s legal status and transport, not an unknown number found online.
