Al Wizarat in central Riyadh has more small flats and studios than many people expect, and their residents usually want a short visit that makes the kitchen and appliances shine again and clears the dust. Gulf Al-Arab Company provides hourly maids in Al Wizarat, Riyadh, starting with a 2-hour visit from SAR 92, while four hours with a single maid cost from SAR 138. Bookings go through 0561940026, by call or WhatsApp.
For anyone new to the term, a part-time or hourly maid in Riyadh is a cleaner you book for a block of hours through a licensed company. She is not a live-in helper and needs no visa from you; she arrives, works through your list, and the company brings her back.

Are there really homes in Al Wizarat?
Yes. The name “Al Wizarat”, meaning “the ministries”, makes many people think only of government buildings, but housing listings show the district is more residential than it seems: apartments for rent, studios, one-bedroom flats, and listings titled “apartment for rent in Al Wizarat, central Riyadh”. Streets that recur in these listings include Zaid Al Baghdadi Street, Al Ajlouni Street and Ibrahim Al Qurtubi Street.
Al Wizarat is a central Riyadh district within the Al Malaz sub-municipality, like its neighbours Ad Dubbat, Al Futah, Al Amal and Al Murabba. What matters for us is that its residential share is lower than in purely residential districts, and the homes there tend to be small: an employee living alone in a studio, a couple in a one-bedroom flat, or a small family in a two-bedroom apartment. Each has a visit that fits.
To be clear
We promise nothing outside the home: our service is for the district’s residential flats and houses. We do not send maids to offices or administrative buildings.
Which visit suits a studio or one-bedroom flat?
The 2-hour visit is usually the right fit, from SAR 92. In that time the maid cleans the kitchenette and bathroom, wipes surfaces and appliances, makes the bed and changes the sheet if you ask, then sweeps and mops the floor. If the studio has not been cleaned for weeks, or you want laundry and ironing too, a 4-hour visit gives a clearer result.
The beauty of a short visit is that it matches the need. A studio does not get dirty like a family home, but its small details are easily neglected when you come home tired: cooking stains on the hob, the inside of the microwave, the sink, the bathroom mirror. A visit every week or two keeps those details under control before they become a chore.
For a couple in a one-bedroom flat with a living room, 4 hours a week usually covers everything including laundry and ironing, or 2 hours a week if one of you handles the washing. Tell us exactly what you want and we will suggest the length before confirming the booking.
How does the maid polish household appliances in Al Wizarat flats?
She first unplugs any appliance that will be cleaned inside, then wipes the outside with a lightly damp cloth and polishes metal and glass parts with a dry cloth so no fingerprints or water marks remain. In small kitchens, appliances sit close together and in full view, so cleaning them alone makes the whole flat look cleaner.

This table shows what the maid cleans on each appliance, and what she does not do:
| Appliance | What the maid cleans | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Fridge | Empties and wipes the shelves inside; wipes the door and handles outside | Best if you tell her which food to throw out |
| Microwave | Removes stains inside; wipes the turntable and door | After unplugging and cooling |
| Glass or gas hob | Removes cooking stains; polishes surface and knobs | Once fully cool |
| Cooker hood | Wipes the outer steel surface | Removing filters or inner parts is outside the visit |
| Washing machine | Wipes body, door and drawer outside | No moving or dismantling |
| Kettle and coffee machine | Wipes the outside and cleans the base | Descaling depends on agreed materials |
The maid does not deal with wiring, plugs or any electrical fault, and she does not dismantle appliances to clean their inner parts; those are maintenance jobs. If there is a device you do not want touched, such as sensitive electronics or a large screen, tell her at the start and she will only dust around it.
Sort the fridge before the visit
Leave the maid a note of what to throw out and what to keep. She can then empty and clean the fridge quickly without stopping to ask about every container.

Book nowWhatsApp 0561940026CallHow does the maid clean a small flat’s bathroom?
A studio or small-flat bathroom gets heavy use for its size, and humidity quickly leaves water and soap marks on glass and taps. The maid starts by spraying surfaces with the agreed product and letting it sit, meanwhile wiping the mirror and shelves; then she scrubs the basin, taps, toilet and bathtub or shower floor, and finishes with the tiles and floor, drying metal surfaces so they shine.
Details she pays attention to include the basin drain where hair collects, the edges of a glass shower door, the door handle and light switch, and the bin. Very old limescale on tiles or glass needs special products, so if you want it treated, agree the materials with us at booking; the maid does not use strong acids or mix chemicals.
How is dust cleared from the balcony and windows after a storm?
After the dust storms that pass over Riyadh, the balcony and windows are what suffer most in a flat, because fine sand settles on the floor, the railing and the potted plants. The maid sweeps the balcony and collects the sand, wipes the railing and the small outdoor table and chairs, cleans the outside of the pots, then moves to the inside of the window glass, the sills and the aluminium tracks.

Balcony cleaning is done by sweeping and wiping, not with hoses, and the maid does not climb the railing or lean out to clean the façade or the outer glass, which counts as hazardous work at height and is not covered. Inside the flat she dusts shelves, appliances and light curtains with the vacuum, and mops the floors last.
- Book the visit after the storm settles, not during it, so the dust does not come straight back.
- Close the windows and balcony door before the maid arrives, and tell her if anything on the balcony must not be moved.
- If the plants need watering, ask for it explicitly as a task.
- A wall-mounted air conditioner is dusted on the outside only, if it is safely within reach.
What do hourly maid visits cost in Al Wizarat?
Short 2-hour visits begin at SAR 92; the 4-hour single-maid visit begins at SAR 138. These are the options that suit the district’s small flats and studios:
| Visit type | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| 2-hour visit | Studio or one-bedroom flat: kitchen, bathroom, floor | 92 |
| 4-hour visit | Full flat with appliances and laundry | 138 |
| Extra hour | For the fridge, or the balcony after a storm | 52 |
| 6-hour visit | Move-in or move-out clean | 204 |
| 4 visits × 4 hours | A fixed weekly visit | 468 |
Hours booked, maids sent, flat size and time of day shape the price; evening, Friday and holiday charges are confirmed at booking. If your request is not in the table, ask for its price on WhatsApp.
Every week or every two weeks: what does a studio need?
That depends on how you live in the flat more than on its size. If you cook at home every day, a weekly visit makes sense, because the hob, hood and sink get dirty fast, and once grease builds up it takes longer to remove. If you mostly eat out and come home to sleep, a visit every two weeks focused on the bathroom, floor, dust and fresh sheets is usually enough.
One point many people miss: Riyadh dust does not wait. Even a closed flat lets in fine dust through the air-conditioning vents and window edges, and it shows on dark surfaces, screens and appliances within days. So a good mix may be a 2-hour visit every week in the dusty seasons and every two weeks in the calmer months.
If you want a fixed commitment, the plan of 4 visits a month at 4 hours each starts from SAR 468 and suits a one-bedroom flat shared by a couple. A studio resident can simply book the short visit each time as needed, with no plan.
What should you write in the booking message when time is short?
In a 2-hour visit there is no time to discover the job while working, so a clear message makes a big difference. List your priorities in order and the maid will start with the most important, with any remaining time going to the next. An example of a useful message:
- Bathroom first: basin, mirror, floor and toilet.
- Kitchen: hob, inside of the microwave, sink, and any dishes.
- Bed: change the sheet; the clean set is in the top cupboard.
- Floor: sweep and mop at the end.
- Do not touch: the desk, papers and screen; just dust around them.
That way the maid knows from the first minute what to do, and none of the time, which starts on her arrival, is lost on questions. If time is left after the list, she will go over the dust and other surfaces.
New flat in Al Wizarat? How to get it ready before moving in
Anyone renting a flat or studio in the district and preparing to move benefits from a move-in clean, because an empty flat is far easier to clean than a full one. The maid cleans inside wardrobes and drawers, the kitchen with its cupboards and any appliances, the bathrooms completely, the windows from inside and the floors, so you move in with everything ready for your belongings.
A studio usually needs about 4 hours and a two-bedroom flat 5 or 6 hours, or two maids for 4 hours from SAR 296. The same applies when you move out and want to hand the flat back clean. Make sure electricity and water are on that day, and that you have the key to let the maid in.
Morning or evening: which shift to choose in Al Wizarat?
Both are available, and the choice depends on who will be home. A morning slot suits someone working from home or a household where the wife is in during the morning; the visit usually ends before noon and the day goes back to normal. An evening slot suits residents who are only in the flat after the afternoon, and its rate is confirmed at booking, as with Fridays and holidays.
Either way, remember that visit time starts when the maid arrives, so if you are late opening the door, that comes out of your hours. Be at the flat a little before the slot, with the pin and flat number clear, because building entrances on the inner streets look alike. If something comes up, move the appointment on WhatsApp in good time rather than cancelling at the last minute.
What is in the visit, and what is out?
Normal indoor housework is in; heavy, hazardous and specialist work is out. These short cards help:
Yes
Cleaning and tidying, sweeping and mopping, kitchen and dishes, bathrooms, inside window glass, dusting.
Also yes
Washing, ironing and folding, wardrobes, hospitality setup and clean-up, move-in cleaning.
No
Cooking whole meals, minding children or elderly relatives on her own, shifting heavy furniture.
Also no
Façades and heights, hosing courtyards, pools and gardens, appliance repair.
How do I book an hourly maid in Al Wizarat?
- 1Contact us by phone or WhatsApp on 0561940026 and mention “Al Wizarat”.
- 2Say what kind of home it is: studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom flat, and whether it is lived-in or empty.
- 3Choose the length: 2 hours, 4 hours or more, and a morning or evening shift.
- 4Send the pin with the building name, flat number and floor.
- 5Once confirmed, she turns up carrying her basic kit, and your hours begin when she walks in.
Which cleaning products she uses is settled when you book. We prefer a woman of the household to be at home during the visit, or the resident to be present to welcome the maid and explain what is needed. To change the time or the maid, WhatsApp us well before the appointment, and if one maid suits you, name her next time and she will come when free.
Are the maids legal, and what does the law say?
Yes. The maids are legally employed with valid iqamas, trained and in a modest uniform. Nationalities on our roster include Kenyan and Ugandan (African) and Bangladeshi; who is free on your date is confirmed as you book.
If you live alone and are looking for a quick fix, it helps to know where the law draws the line. The Domestic Workers Regulation does not permit a sponsor to let their domestic worker work for others; the penalty tops out at a twenty-thousand-riyal fine or a recruitment ban of up to three years, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced penalties against employers in such cases. The General Directorate of Passports punishes anyone who employs or houses residency and labour violators with up to six months in prison and a fine of up to one hundred thousand riyals. Booking through a licensed company is the safe route.
