Hourly Maids in Al Amal, Riyadh

After a gathering in your Al Amal flat, or before guests sit under a chandelier nobody has touched in months, you can book hourly maids in Al Amal, Riyadh from Gulf Al-Arab Company for 2 to 8 hours. A 4-hour visit with one maid is from SAR 138, and two maids for 4 hours are from SAR 296 when you want the place back in order fast. To book, phone or WhatsApp 0561940026.

Where is Al Amal in Riyadh, and what are its homes like?

Al Amal is a central Riyadh district: Aqar files it under “Central Riyadh”, and it belongs to the Al Malaz sub-municipality. Its Arabic name, العمل, also means “work”, so searches can get muddled; when you book, write “Al Amal district” with your location pin so it is not mistaken for an office address. Streets that recur in its listings include Al Qanadi Street, Al Ibn Street and Sulaiman bin Mihran Street.

Listings in the district lean towards flats and studios for rent and residential buildings for sale, so this is an area of closely spaced flats in mostly older buildings. In a family flat here, hospitality usually happens in one living or reception room with a chandelier in the middle, rugs on the floor, and coffee, tea and sometimes dinner served there. When the gathering ends, all the work lands in a small space: trays, cups and coffee pots, crumbs on the rug, and a full kitchen.

So this page is built around two jobs: the chandelier and the room where guests sit, and the clean-up after gatherings. The rest of the housework can fit into the same visit.

What do hourly maids charge in Al Amal?

One maid for 4 hours in Al Amal is from SAR 138, usually enough to clean the reception room, chandelier and kitchen after a small get-together. After a large gathering, two maids or a longer visit is the better fit, as the table shows:

Visit typeDetailsFrom (SAR)
Two maids, 4 hoursone on the kitchen and dishes, the other on the reception room, rugs and bathrooms296
4 hoursone maid, chandelier and reception room, or tidying after a small gathering138
2 hoursone maid, getting the reception room and guest bathroom ready92
6 hoursone maid, after a large gathering including the whole kitchen204
Extra hourif the dishes and pots outrun the plan52

Your final price follows the hours, the number of maids, the flat’s size and the slot. Post-gathering visits often fall at the weekend or in the evening; if Friday or evening carries a charge, it is confirmed at booking. For a task not in the table, ask about its price on WhatsApp.

How is a chandelier cleaned on an hourly visit without taking risks?

The maid cleans the chandelier in place if it is within reach of a small, stable step, or cleans the parts that come off easily at a table. She does not stand on chairs or tables, and she does not work on a chandelier in a high ceiling that needs a long ladder, because high and dangerous work is outside the visit. First of all the switch goes off and the bulbs are left to cool.

Chandeliers in flats vary a lot: crystal with hanging drops, modern clusters of glass globes, metal arms with fabric shades. Each needs its own approach. The table shows what the maid does with each type, and what we suggest leaving to a specialist:

Chandelier typeWhat the maid doesNot part of the visit
Crystal with hanging dropswipes the drops in place with a cotton glove, or removes the easy ones to wash and dryrehanging every small drop if a tool is needed
Modern glass globesremoves globes that come off easily, washes them in warm water and dries themundoing connections or changing wiring
Metal with fabric shadesvacuums the shades and wipes the armswashing glued fabric shades
Chandelier in a high ceilingnothing from above, only parts that can be lowered safelyanything needing a long ladder or climbing
Concealed lights and spotlightswipes the rims within reach of a small stepremoving or repairing fittings

When globes or drops come off, the maid lays a thick towel on the table, washes the pieces in a bowl of warm water with a little soap, then dries each one with a lint-free cloth. That is safer than spraying cleaner on a hanging chandelier, where liquid can reach the connections. A medium chandelier takes about an hour this way.

How often does a chandelier need cleaning?

In central Riyadh dust settles on a chandelier quickly, especially in rooms near windows or AC units. A light wipe with a cotton glove every visit or two stops the grey film building up, so a full clean with parts taken down is needed only every few months or before a big occasion. That way the chandelier takes a few minutes within a normal visit instead of a full hour each time.

Before you ask for the chandelier

Turn the wall switch off, and tell the maid if the chandelier is heavy, loosely fixed or has blown bulbs. Changing bulbs in a high ceiling or repairing the fitting is electrical work and not part of the visit.

What happens on the morning after a gathering?

On the morning after, the maid starts in the kitchen, because dishes and pots take longest, then moves to the reception room and finishes with bathrooms and floors. With two maids they work at the same time, one in the kitchen and one in the reception room and bathrooms, and finish in roughly half the time.

Here is a sample split for two maids over 4 hours after a gathering in a mid-sized Al Amal flat; change it to suit what matters most to you:

TimeFirst maidSecond maid
Hour onecollects dishes and cups and washes the big potsclears trays from the reception room and plumps cushions and floor seating
Hour twowashes and dries plates, coffee cups and dallahsvacuums the rugs and gets crumbs out from between the seats

Dallahs and cups

Coffee pots are washed inside to remove coffee residue, and the small cups are dried and returned to their tray.

Rug stains

Fresh coffee and tea spots are treated with a damp cloth; old stains fade but do not always disappear.

Incense and food smells

The room is aired, and surfaces and curtains near the incense burner are vacuumed.

Rubbish

Bagged and tied by the door, for the family to take out or for the maid to leave in the agreed spot.

Leave the pots soaking overnight

If the big pots go into soapy water once the guests leave, the maid saves the time she would spend scrubbing dried grease, and the visit stretches to more jobs.

A men’s majlis and a women’s sitting room: how do you reset both?

When hospitality happens in two places, a majlis for men and a sitting room for women, the trays, cups and cushions double, and two maids help more than a longer visit by one. Each maid starts in one room, then they meet in the kitchen where dishes from both sides pile up. If the majlis is near the front door, it is done first so the entrance is clean for family coming and going.

Flat majlises often have floor seating and long cushions, and underneath them hide crumbs, date stones and nut shells. The maid lifts the cushions and shakes them out of the room where possible, vacuums under them and along the wall, then sets them back in a straight line. The women’s room usually has lots of small tables and sweet dishes, so those are collected first and the floor beneath wiped after.

Leave the maid a short list

Three lines on the fridge door, such as “majlis first, gold cups by hand, no water on the red rug”, save you explaining and save the maid asking, especially if you go out during the visit while a woman of the family stays home.

Getting the reception room ready before guests: are two hours enough?

Yes. Two hours, from SAR 92, is enough to get the reception room and guest bathroom of a mid-sized flat ready, provided the home is already fairly tidy. The maid wipes tables and surfaces, vacuums the rugs, cleans the guest bathroom and mirror, straightens the cushions and lays out clean serving trays and cups.

If you also want the chandelier done, book 4 hours, because the chandelier alone can take an hour. Serving during the occasion itself is possible within the booked hours: making and serving coffee and tea, changing and clearing plates, then cleaning once guests leave. Cooking the full meal is not part of a visit, but the maid helps with serving and keeping the kitchen in order.

What does a visit in Al Amal not cover?

A visit does not cover cooking the whole meal, or caring for children or elderly relatives alone with no family member around. Also excluded: dangerous jobs and heights, including chandeliers in high ceilings, plus exterior facades, moving heavy furniture, hosing large yards, and pools and gardens.

We like a woman of the household to be home during the visit, to show the maid where valuable dishes go and which serving sets must be hand-washed. Gold-rimmed cups and older sets are washed by hand, never in the dishwasher, so point them out before she starts.

What do we need to know about your building in Al Amal?

We need the building, floor and flat number, the location pin, and whether there is a lift. The district’s buildings stand close together and some are old, so a clear address lets two maids arrive together on time. If the visit is the morning after a gathering, tell us when the household will be up, because the visit time counts from the maid’s arrival.

In Ramadan and Eid, when gatherings come close together, it helps to book early and fix the after-gathering visits in one go. Getting the home ready for Ramadan or Eid is part of what a visit covers: cleaning the majlis and sitting room, washing serving sets that only come out in season, sorting the dish cupboard, then cleaning after each gathering.

Book once, or take a package?

If you host only now and then, booking when needed is enough; if family get-togethers are weekly, a package suits you better, because it keeps the reception room and kitchen in shape between occasions. Packages are hourly visits across the month, not a live-in maid:

How do you book an hourly maid in Al Amal?

Book by phone or WhatsApp on 0561940026; we drive the maid or maids to your building and collect them when the time is up:

  1. 1Write “Al Amal district” and the job: set-up before guests, clean-up after a gathering, or chandelier and reception room.
  2. 2Give a rough guest count, the number of rooms and bathrooms, and the chandelier type if you want it cleaned.
  3. 3Choose one or two maids, the length and the time; we confirm the price and any evening or Friday charge.
  4. 4Send the pin with the building, floor and flat number.
  5. 5The maid brings basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed at booking.
  6. 6If the gathering date moves, WhatsApp us well ahead so we can move the visit; you can ask for the same maid later, subject to availability.

Are the maids legally employed? What does the law say?

Yes. The company sends maids with valid iqamas, trained in housework and hospitality, in modest uniform. Available nationalities include African maids such as Kenyan and Ugandan, and Bangladeshi maids, depending on availability when you book.

Around wedding and Eid seasons, middlemen often offer maids “for one night”, and that is a route into breaking the law. The domestic workers regulation forbids letting a domestic worker work for anyone other than their employer, with fines reaching SAR 20,000 or a recruitment ban of up to three years. Jawazat rules state that employing, moving or housing residency violators is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine that may reach SAR 100,000. Booking through a licensed company keeps that responsibility away from you.
