Hourly Maids in Al Faruq, Riyadh

Gulf Al-Arab Company provides hourly maids in Al Faruq, Riyadh for family villas in the centre of the city. Think of it as part-time help rather than a live-in worker: you choose how long she stays, most often 4 hours, and in that time she cleans bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen, sorts wardrobes and wipes window glass on the inside before our driver collects her. One maid for a visit starts from SAR 138. To book, call or WhatsApp 0561940026.

What are homes in Al Faruq, Riyadh, like?

Al Faruq is listed by property portals as a central Riyadh district under Al Malaz sub-municipality. It sits on the eastern edge of the centre, which is why some sources place it close to east Riyadh: Al Jazirah lies on its eastern side. Villas dominate the district’s sale and rental listings, so the typical home here is a family villa on two floors or more, with several bedrooms, a majlis, a family hall, a kitchen and a laundry room.

What wears out families in these homes is not only dust but sheer quantity of things: a wardrobe for every family member, a storeroom under the stairs, hospitality sets, and winter clothes waiting for their season. After a few weeks, opening a wardrobe becomes a job in itself. So this page focuses on two things that suit Al Faruq villas: wardrobe organising and inside window and glass cleaning, alongside the regular cleaning every visit includes.

Whether you search for an hourly maid, a part-time maid or a cleaning lady by the hour in Al Faruq, the service is the same: a visit you size yourself, with no live-in worker and no long contract.

How does an hourly maid organise the wardrobes in your Al Faruq villa?

The maid works in three stages: she empties one shelf at a time, wipes the shelf clean, then puts the items back folded and grouped by type and use. It is slightly slower than tipping everything out at once, but it stops the bedroom turning into a pile of clothes halfway through the visit.

Bedroom wardrobes

Separating everyday wear from occasion wear, folding shirts and pyjamas the same way, and hanging thobes and abayas by colour or length.

Children’s wardrobes

School clothes on a shelf within reach, socks and small items in baskets, and outgrown clothes set aside in a bag for you to decide on.

Linen cupboard

Sheets and pillowcases folded into complete sets, heavy blankets on top, towels by size.

Hospitality store

Wiping shelves and arranging coffee pots, flasks and trays so that what you need first is in front when guests arrive.

The maid never throws anything away and never decides what goes to charity. Her job is to sort and show you, and to put anything you want to part with in separate bags. That is why it helps if a lady of the house is at home, at least for the first hour, to give general instructions and then let her work.

Work room by room

In a large villa, do not ask for every wardrobe in one visit. Start with the master bedroom and the linen cupboard, then the children’s rooms on the next visit. The result is cleaner, and there is time left to clean the room itself after organising it.

When does a villa need a full wardrobe reorganisation?

Usually twice a year, when the Riyadh weather turns: as winter approaches and the blankets and jackets come out, and when the heat sets in and the summer clothes move to the front. Between the two, a light tidy within the weekly visit is enough.

Other moments make it necessary too: the start of the school year, when children’s sizes change; before Ramadan, when hospitality sets and new bedding come out; and after a long trip, when suitcases are full of clothes that need washing and ironing before going back. In each case the maid can combine laundry, ironing, folding and organising in one longer visit.

This table helps you choose a length for what you want done in an Al Faruq villa:

How does a seasonal clothes-swap day go in an Al Faruq villa?

It runs in four stages one after another: gathering and sorting, washing what needs it, arranging the wardrobes, then cleaning the rooms where the work happened. That order means the last thing you see at the end of the visit is a clean room, not bags on the floor.

First the maid collects the outgoing season’s clothes from each room into one spot, the upstairs hall for example, and sorts them into three groups: what needs washing before storage, what is clean and can go straight away, and what she shows you so you can decide whether to keep it. Then the washing machine runs in batches by colour and fabric, and while it runs she brings the coming season’s clothes down from top shelves or boxes, shakes them out and hangs anything that needs airing after months in storage.

In the third stage she arranges the wardrobes: current clothes on shelves near eye level, stored clothes on top or under the bed in sealed bags, with a label on each bag if you want to write one. Finally she sweeps and mops the rooms, because emptying wardrobes raises a lot of dust that settles on floors and surfaces.

A large Al Faruq villa may not finish in 6 hours if there are many rooms, and this is where two maids together help: one sorting and arranging, the other washing, ironing and cleaning. Ironing in particular takes longer than many people expect, since thobes, abayas and school shirts need care, so it is fine to leave part of it for next week’s visit.

How much is an hourly maid in Al Faruq?

In Al Faruq, prices start at SAR 138 for a single maid staying 4 hours, a sensible starting point for a medium-sized villa. A wardrobe day or a full clean usually needs longer or two maids:

VisitBest used forStarting price (SAR)
4-hour visitOne maid for the regular villa clean, or one room and its wardrobe138
6-hour visitSeasonal clothes swap across several rooms, with cleaning204
8-hour visitA full day of cleaning and organising after travel or before Ramadan234
Two maids, 4 hoursOne on wardrobes and linen, the other on kitchen and bathrooms296
4 visits x 4 hoursA weekly visit that keeps wardrobes in order after the big day468
8 visits x 4 hoursA large villa where both parents work: two visits each week885

The final price depends on hours, number of maids, villa size and whether you choose morning or evening, and we tell you before confirming. Any evening, Friday or public-holiday charge is something we confirm with you when you book. If the job you have in mind is missing from the table, send it on WhatsApp and ask what it costs.

Time starts when the maid arrives

Hours are counted from the moment the maid reaches your home, not from when she leaves our base. If near the end you see the last wardrobe needs longer, add an extra hour from SAR 52 rather than leaving it half done.

How does the maid clean windows and glass in Al Faruq villas?

She cleans window glass on the inside only: first the dust on the frame and the sliding track, then the glass with a damp cloth followed by a dry one so no streaks remain. Exterior facades and high windows that need a tall ladder or standing on a ledge are outside an hourly maid’s work, for her safety.

In central Riyadh villas, dust collects between the glass and the insect screen and in the tracks of sliding windows, and after every dusty spell a grey line appears along the inner sill. So the maid starts with the tracks, using a small brush and a damp cloth, because wiping the glass first means the dust blows back the first time the window is opened.

  • Majlis and hall windows: usually large and show marks in sunlight, so they are wiped after dusting the nearby curtains.
  • Glass doors and mirrors: polished after removing the fingerprints around the handles.
  • Bathroom and kitchen windows: carry steam and light grease, cleaned with a suitable product agreed at booking.
  • Staircase windows: only what can be reached safely from the step.

Do not ask for the outside

The maid does not stand on window ledges, go out onto the roof to clean glass from outside, or climb tall ladders. Saudi domestic-worker rules ban dangerous tasks, and that work needs a specialist facade-cleaning company.

What visit plan suits a family villa in Al Faruq?

For most villas the best plan is one big first visit, followed by a 4-hour weekly visit that keeps the result. The big visit deals with wardrobes, windows and neglected corners; the weekly one handles kitchen, bathrooms, floors and laundry.

A practical example: in week one you book two maids for 4 hours. One takes two bedroom wardrobes and the linen cupboard; the other the kitchen, bathrooms and ground-floor windows. After that you move to the weekly package and give each visit a fixed area: ground floor and majlis on one visit, bedrooms and laundry on the next. Nothing piles up, and you only need another big day when the season changes.

A large family with members working away from home all day may suit the 8-visit package (two visits a week), or, for three visits weekly, the 12-visit plan starting at SAR 1,325. Choose what fits your home’s rhythm; the plan can change after the first month.

What will the maid do in your villa, and what will she leave?

Inside the villa she handles the housework you would expect; heavy lifting, risky jobs and personal care sit outside her role:

Part of the visit

Bedrooms and halls tidied and cleaned, floors swept and mopped, the kitchen and every dish, bathrooms, washing, ironing and folding, window glass from inside, the vacuum run over majlis cushions and rugs, dust lifted from surfaces, coffee and trays readied and served when guests come and the clear-up after them, plus a full clean when you move into a villa or hand one back.

Left out of the visit

Cooking whole meals, looking after children or an elderly relative as a job in itself, exterior walls and anything at height, shifting heavy furniture or the wardrobes themselves, hosing down a large yard, the swimming pool and the garden.

The maid moves a chair or small table to clean under it, but she does not dismantle wardrobes or carry cupboards between rooms. If a wardrobe has very high shelves, the shelf that needs a tall ladder stays for you or a family member.

Are the maids legally employed, and where are they from?

Yes. Every maid works legally, holds a valid iqama (residence permit), has been trained in housework and arrives in a modest uniform. The pool currently includes maids from African countries, Kenya and Uganda for example, as well as Bangladesh; which of them is free on your day depends on who is available when you book.

Why go through a company at all? Under the Domestic Workers Regulation from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, a household may not hire out its own worker to others; an employer who does so risks fines as high as SAR 20,000, or being barred from recruiting for as long as three years. Separately, the General Directorate of Passports warns that anyone who employs, drives or houses a residency violator can face six months behind bars and penalties reaching SAR 100,000. A cheap offer from a stranger at the door is never worth that risk.

The regulation also caps a stretch of work at five hours before a rest is due, which helps explain why 4 hours is the length most people choose across the market: enough to finish a lot without wearing anyone out.

Tips before the maid arrives at your villa

  • Have bags or boxes ready if the visit is a seasonal clothes swap.
  • Lock away jewellery and important papers before wardrobes are opened.
  • Tell the maid which rooms she should not enter.
  • If you prefer particular products for glass or wood, leave them where she can see them.
  • Set priorities: what must be finished first if time runs short.

Frequently asked questions

Can the maid organise every wardrobe in the villa in one visit?

It depends on the number of rooms and amount of clothes. For a large villa we suggest two maids for four hours, or splitting the work over two visits so there is time to clean the rooms afterwards.

Will the maid throw away old clothes?

No. She sorts, shows you, and puts anything you want to part with in separate bags; the decision is yours alone.

Does the maid clean windows from the outside?

No. She cleans glass, frames and tracks on the inside only. Facades and high places are outside an hourly maid's work for her safety.

Is Al Faruq in central or east Riyadh?

Property portals list it in central Riyadh under Al Malaz sub-municipality. It lies on the eastern edge of the centre, next to Al Jazirah.

Does the maid bring cleaning equipment?

Yes, she brings basic cleaning tools; cleaning products are as agreed with you at booking.

Can I book an evening visit?

Yes, morning and evening visits are available; the evening charge is confirmed at booking.

Does someone need to be home during the visit?

A lady of the house being present is preferred, especially for wardrobe visits, because the maid needs your instructions when sorting.

Can I ask for the same maid every week?

Yes, subject to her availability. It helps on weekly visits because she already knows how your wardrobes are arranged.

Which package suits a family villa?

The 4 visits x 4 hours package from SAR 468 suits many homes; larger villas may prefer 8 visits from SAR 885.

How do I reschedule a visit?

Message us on WhatsApp 0561940026 well before the visit so we can rearrange the schedule.
