Al Yamamah district, Riyadh: where is it and what is the housing?
Al Yamamah is a central Riyadh district as Aqar classifies it, a few lists push it towards the south of the centre, and administratively it sits within Al Batha sub-municipality. Note that the well-known Jabal Al Yamamah Street is in Al Malaz and has nothing to do with the Al Yamamah district described here; if your address is on that street, tell us Al Malaz.
Streets in Al Yamamah district that appear in listings include Abdulrahim Al Kattami Street, Al Rammam Street, Al Arji Street, Mabayed Street and Al Dulaimiyah Street. Most of what is listed there is residential buildings and flats, so a visit will usually be in a flat inside a building, with a kitchen, living room, bedrooms and one or more bathrooms.
In building flats, bathrooms and wardrobes are what gets put off until it becomes a burden. A bathroom gets a quick rinse every day, but scale around the taps, tile grout and shower glass builds up week after week. Wardrobes fill without order when seasons change, and summer clothes end up tangled with winter ones. Those two jobs are what this page is built on.
What does an hourly maid in Al Yamamah cost?
Four hours with one maid in Al Yamamah is from SAR 138, usually enough to deep-clean two bathrooms and sort one wardrobe in a mid-sized flat. These lengths suit most of the district’s flats:
| Visit type | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| 2 hours | one maid, one bathroom deep-cleaned with a quick kitchen wipe | 92 |
| 4 hours | one maid, two bathrooms and one wardrobe organised | 138 |
| 5 hours | one maid, seasonal clothes swap across bedroom wardrobes | 184 |
| 6 hours | one maid, a flat with three bathrooms and several wardrobes | 204 |
| 8 visits x 4 hours | two visits every week for larger families | 885 |
Treat these as entry prices: the bill you actually get reflects how long the maid stays, whether one or two come, how big the flat is and when the visit happens. Extra charges for evenings, Fridays or holidays, where they apply, are confirmed at booking. For any task not listed, ask about its price on WhatsApp.
What does a deep bathroom clean include on an hourly visit?
A deep bathroom clean means removing scale from taps and the shower head, scrubbing tile grout, cleaning the toilet inside and out including its base, wiping shower glass and the mirror streak-free, cleaning the basin and the cabinet below it, then mopping and drying the floor. Unlike the everyday rinse, it reaches the places that are easy to overlook.
Taps and shower head
White limescale removed with a suitable cleaner, and the metal polished back to a shine.
Shower glass
Soap film lifted, then a squeegee, leaving clear glass with no dried drops.
Toilet and base
Inside, rim, base and the floor around it cleaned, where smells collect.
Basin cabinet
Emptied and wiped inside, empty bottles thrown out with your permission, then put back in order.
The table below gives the approximate time to deep-clean bathrooms by how many your flat has, and what else can fit into the same visit:
| Number of bathrooms | Time for bathrooms alone | What the rest of the visit allows |
|---|---|---|
| One bathroom | about 45 minutes to an hour | the kitchen and a living-room tidy in a 2-hour visit |
| Two bathrooms | about 2 hours | one wardrobe and mopping floors in a 4-hour visit |
| Three bathrooms | about 3 hours | the kitchen and floors in a 5- or 6-hour visit |
| Four bathrooms or more | about half a day | an 8-hour visit or two maids |

When a bathroom is poorly ventilated
If the bathroom has no window or a weak extractor fan, keep its door open during and after cleaning, and do not leave the maid strong cleaners to mix. Bleach mixed with acid cleaners releases harmful fumes, and one suitable cleaner is enough.
Scale that will not shift in one go
Some limescale around taps and on tiles has formed over months and may need more than one visit to disappear fully, especially on surfaces that cannot take hard scrubbing. It fades a lot on the first visit, and regular cleaning then keeps it under control easily. Broken taps or leaks are a plumber’s job, not a cleaner’s.
Do the bathrooms in your Al Yamamah flat need a deep clean? Count them for us and we will work out a sensible length, plus whatever else can squeeze into the remaining time.
Book nowWhatsApp 0561940026CallHow does the maid organise wardrobes in one visit?
The maid empties the wardrobe one shelf at a time, wipes shelves and drawers inside, then puts clothes back sorted by type and use. She does not decide what to throw away; she gathers items that look worn or outgrown into a separate pile for you to decide on.
- 1Empty one shelf or drawer at a time, so the room does not turn into chaos.
- 2Wipe the shelf or drawer inside and let it dry for a moment.
- 3Sort items: worn often, worn sometimes, and those that need your decision.
- 4Fold folded items to one size so they stack neatly.
- 5Hang abayas, thobes and shirts on matching hangers, long items on one side and short on the other.
- 6Place shoes and bags at the bottom of the wardrobe or on their own shelves.

Organising a mid-sized wardrobe for one person takes about an hour to an hour and a half; a shared wardrobe for a couple or a children’s wardrobe can take two hours. So if you have more than one wardrobe to sort, book 5 or 6 hours, or split them across two visits in a row.
Children’s wardrobes: an order a child can keep
In a child’s wardrobe, a simple order works better than a perfect one. The maid puts school uniforms on one shelf at the child’s eye level, home clothes in one drawer and pyjamas in another, and gathers socks and underwear in small baskets. Clothes the child has outgrown go into a separate bag until the mother decides what to pass on. With that layout a child can find their own clothes in the morning, and the wardrobe stays tidy longer.
A small dressing room in a flat
Some flats have a small dressing room or a large built-in wardrobe along a whole wall. Here the maid starts with the floor, which is usually crowded with shoes and bags, then sorts the shelves from top to bottom within her reach, and hangs abayas and thobes in one row by colour or length as you prefer. She wipes the mirror and shoe racks and vacuums the floor last.
Swapping summer and winter clothes: how is it done in one visit?
Riyadh’s winter is short but many nights are cold, while its summer is long and hot, so wardrobes need swapping roughly twice a year. On a swap visit the maid takes out the clothes of the season that has ended, folds them into storage boxes or bags, and brings down the next season’s clothes to hang or fold within easy reach.
| Stage | What the maid does | What you prepare |
|---|---|---|
| Sorting | takes the finished season’s clothes out of each wardrobe | decide what to keep and what to give away |
| Washing | washes anything that needs it before storage so no smell stays in | laundry detergent |
| Storing | folds items into boxes and labels them if you like | storage boxes or bags |
| Bringing down | unpacks, airs and hangs the coming season’s clothes | lift boxes down from high places before the visit |
| Ironing | irons what the new season’s clothes need | the iron and ironing board |
Bring the boxes down before the visit
If seasonal clothes are stored on top of wardrobes or on high shelves, bring them down yourself before the visit, because the maid does not climb to high places. That way the swap starts in the first minute.
Bathroom smells: where do they come from, and what does the maid do?
Bathroom smells usually come from three places: the toilet base and the floor around it, the floor drain, and the bin. The maid cleans all three, pours hot water with a suitable cleaner into the drain, and washes and dries the bin. If the smell is still there afterwards, the cause may be in the pipework itself, and that needs a plumber.
What falls outside an hourly maid visit?
Plumbing, fixing taps and leaks, and climbing to high shelves or wardrobe tops fall outside the visit. The visit also does not include full cooking, staying alone with children or elderly relatives with no family member present, exterior facades, moving heavy wardrobes or large furniture, hosing wide yards, or pools and gardens.
Try to have a woman from the family around while the maid works, wardrobes above all, because decisions about keeping or letting go of clothes belong to their owners. Valuables such as gold and important papers are best taken out of the wardrobe before the maid starts.
If guests are coming soon, ask for the guest bathroom first, then the others. It is the first room a visitor uses after the majlis, and a clean one with a fresh towel and new soap at the basin says a lot about the whole home, even when time runs out for the rest.
Address details for an Al Yamamah flat
We need the district name, “Al Yamamah”, written clearly, with the building location pin, floor and flat number. Because many people connect the name with Jabal Al Yamamah Street in Al Malaz, the pin settles it from the start. Tell us if the building has no lift or a buzzer door so we can plan the maid’s arrival with her kit.
It also helps to say how many bathrooms and wardrobes you want done, and which bathroom is the priority. That alone lets us suggest the right length instead of you booking fewer or more hours than you need.
Morning or evening? Once or a package?
Visits run in both slots, and time counts from the maid’s arrival. Wardrobe sorting suits a time when the wardrobe’s owner is home to decide what stays, so if you work during the day the evening may suit you better; any evening charge is stated at booking.
With bathrooms, regularity helps more than anything else. A bathroom deep-cleaned every week never builds up scale in the first place. Monthly packages are hourly visits spread across the weeks of the month, not a live-in maid:
| Package | Suggested use | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| 4 visits x 4 hours | a weekly visit for bathrooms and routine cleaning | 468 |
| 8 visits x 4 hours | two visits a week, one of them for wardrobes and laundry | 885 |
| 12 visits x 4 hours | three visits a week for a big flat and a big family | 1,325 |
Booking in Al Yamamah: the six steps
A call or WhatsApp message to 0561940026 starts it; getting the maid to your building and home again afterwards is our job:
- 1Send “Al Yamamah district”, your home type, and the number of bathrooms and rooms.
- 2Choose the task: deep bathrooms, wardrobe organising, seasonal swap, or general cleaning.
- 3Settle the hours and the slot, and we reply with the price, including any surcharge, ahead of the date.
- 4Share your pin and add the building, floor and door number.
- 5Basic tools travel with the maid; whether she also brings cleaning products is decided when you book.
- 6Plans changed, or want someone else? Message us on WhatsApp in good time. You can ask for the maid who sorted your wardrobes last time if she is available, since she already knows your system.
Legally employed maids: nationalities and the rules
Each maid we place is on a current iqama, has been trained in cleaning and organising, and works in a modest uniform. Depending on the day you book, you may be offered an African maid (Kenyan or Ugandan, for instance) or a Bangladeshi maid.
Dealing with a licensed company protects you from violations you might not notice. Lending out a domestic worker to another household is banned by the domestic workers regulation, and the employer who does it can be fined as much as SAR 20,000 or barred from recruiting for three years. Separately, Jawazat warns that giving work, a bed or a lift to someone breaking residency and labour rules can mean half a year in jail and a SAR 100,000 fine at most.
