Hourly Maids in Al Futah, Riyadh

Gulf Al-Arab Company sends hourly maids to Al Futah, Riyadh, covering the flats and studios of this central district. An hourly (part-time) maid is a vetted worker who arrives for an agreed block of hours, finishes the work and goes home, so nobody moves in with you. Visits run from 2 to 8 hours; the usual one is 4 hours with one maid, from SAR 138. This page focuses on what wears down a furnished flat most: bedrooms, curtains and bed linen. Bookings are by phone or WhatsApp on 0561940026.

Where is Al Futah in Riyadh, and what kind of housing does it have?

Al Futah is a district in central Riyadh under the Al Malaz sub-municipality, and on Aqar and Bayut its listings are filed under “Central Riyadh”. One street that keeps appearing in its rental listings is Khurshah bin Al Harith Street. Most listings are flats for rent, with a noticeable share of furnished flats and studios on monthly rent.

That shapes how we work here. If you rent a furnished flat by the month, you do not own the sofa, the bed or the curtains, but you live with them every day and you answer for their condition at handover. You are also likely to be working, studying or in Riyadh for treatment, with little time to wash bedding, dust curtains and sort out the wardrobe. An hourly maid fits that life: a visit with a fixed length, booked when you need it, with no long contract and no room to provide for a live-in worker.

Central Riyadh is full of closely packed buildings and inner streets, so we always ask for your location pin on WhatsApp together with the building, floor and flat number, so the maid finds the right door the first time. We do not promise arrival times in minutes, because traffic and the hour of the visit change them.

Why start a furnished flat with the bedrooms and curtains?

Bedrooms and curtains hold more dust and smell than anything else in a furnished flat, because they are fixed fabrics the tenant never replaces. Floors get mopped most weeks, but a curtain can hang for months, the mattress is never turned, and the flat’s original duvet cover is rarely washed. Add Riyadh dust coming in around window frames and AC vents, and those fabrics become the reason a room smells stale or sets off sneezing when you open the door.

In a studio the problem doubles, because the bedroom is also the living room and often the dining area. Cooking smells settle in the curtain, crumbs end up on the rug beside the bed, and clothes pile up on the only chair. So we suggest that Al Futah tenants make the first visit a “fabrics and rooms” visit, then move on to lighter regular visits.

Curtains

Dusting light fabric, wiping tracks and rings within safe reach, and taking down sheer panels to wash in your machine when the fabric allows.

Bed and linen

Stripping and changing the bed, washing sheets and pillowcases, vacuuming the mattress and turning it if it is light.

Wardrobe

Taking clothes out, wiping shelves and drawers inside, and putting things back in an order you can use.

Under the bed

Vacuuming and mopping under the bed and behind bedside tables, where dust gathers unseen.

What does an hourly maid in Al Futah cost?

In Al Futah, four hours of one maid’s time starts from SAR 138, usually enough for two bedrooms with their curtains and bedding in a mid-sized flat. These are the visit lengths that suit the district’s furnished flats and studios:

Visit typeDetailsFrom (SAR)
2 hoursone maid, a studio or one bedroom with a bed change92
4 hoursone maid, bedrooms, light curtains and wardrobe tidy138
5 hoursone maid, a whole furnished flat with bedding washed and folded184
Extra hourto finish a heavy curtain or a large wardrobe52
4 visits x 4 hoursa weekly visit on a fixed day through your lease468

What you finally pay is set by the hours booked, how many maids come, the flat’s size and the slot you pick. If evenings, Fridays or public holidays carry an extra charge, you hear it at booking time, not after the visit. For anything missing from the table, WhatsApp us and ask what it costs.

What does the maid do with curtains during an hourly visit?

The maid treats curtains according to their fabric: sheers can come down and be washed, heavy fabric is dusted and vacuumed while it hangs, and lined blackout curtains are usually best left to a specialist cleaner. That distinction matters in a furnished flat, because the curtain belongs to the landlord, and any shrinking or fading will show at handover.

Before starting, the maid checks the care label if there is one and asks whether the curtain has been washed at home before. If you are not sure, the safer route is to clean it in place: a light shake from top to bottom, the vacuum’s fabric nozzle along the folds, then a damp wipe of the track and rings. That alone removes most of the dust that causes the smell.

The table below shows what an hourly visit covers for each common curtain type in furnished flats, and what we suggest leaving to someone else:

Curtain typeWhat the maid does on the visitWhat stays outside the visit
Light sheer (voile)takes it down, washes it on a gentle cycle and rehangs it damp so it falls straightusually nothing, if the fabric allows
Medium fabric, unlinedshakes and vacuums it in place and spot-cleans light marksfull washing if the fabric reacts to water
Heavy lined blackoutvacuums the surface and wipes the track and ringswashing or steam cleaning by a specialist

Curtain above a safe heightonly what she reaches from a small, stable stepanything needing a tall ladder or risky climbing

A note for tenants

Do not ask for a lined or velvet curtain to go in a home washing machine unless you are sure of the fabric, because shrinkage cannot be undone. The maid follows your instructions, but the decision about the landlord’s property is yours.

How does the maid tidy a bedroom in a furnished flat?

The maid works from top to bottom and from fabrics to floor, so no dust falls on anything already cleaned. That order saves real time on a visit with limited hours, and leaves the room looking freshly made up.

  1. 1Open the window if the weather allows and switch the AC off while dusting, so dust does not circulate.
  2. 2Strip the bed and put sheets and pillowcases in the washing machine first, so the cycle runs while she works on the rest of the room.
  3. 3Wipe high shelves, the top of the wardrobe, the headboard and the mirror frame.
  4. 4Clean bedside tables, lamps and handles, the things hands touch most in the room.
  5. 5Vacuum and air the mattress, then make the bed with fresh linen or the set that has dried.
  6. 6Vacuum under the bed and behind furniture, then mop the floor or vacuum the rug.
  7. 7Deal with loose clothes: hanging items hung, dirty ones to the laundry basket, folded ones to the drawers.

In an average room this takes around an hour and a half to two hours, and longer if the wardrobe needs emptying completely. So for a two-bedroom flat we say a 4-hour visit covers the rooms and light curtains, with a little time left for the bathroom or the kitchen dishes.

Get the washing machine going in the first minute

Tell the maid where the detergent is before she starts, and she will load the bedding as soon as she arrives, so the wash and dry finish within the same visit and the sheets are folded or back on the bed before she leaves.

Studios: how are two hours split in a room that does everything?

In a studio, a 2-hour visit from SAR 92 is enough for routine cleaning and tidying, while 4 hours makes sense if you also want the bedding washed and the curtain dusted. A studio is small in floor area but crowded with jobs: a bed, a sofa, a kitchenette and a bathroom in one space.

For two hours we suggest this split: half an hour for the kitchenette and dishes, half an hour for the bathroom, half an hour for the bed, clothes and surfaces, and half an hour to vacuum and mop the floor and take out the rubbish. Leave curtains and bedding for a longer visit once a month, or add an extra hour from SAR 52.

It also helps in a studio to give things fixed places: a box for papers, a basket for laundry, a shoe rack by the door. The maid will not decide your system for you on the first visit, but she will keep to the system you want on every visit after that, especially if you ask for the same maid.

What does the maid watch out for with a furnished flat’s furniture?

The maid keeps in mind that the furniture is not yours, so she uses mild products on wood and fabric and will not test a strong cleaner on a stain without asking you first. It is best to tell her at the start what you know about the flat: the sofa that was already stained when you moved in, the glass table that scratches easily, the rug that should not get wet.

  • Wood and tables: wiped with a barely damp cloth and dried, never soaked.
  • Fabric sofas: vacuumed between and under the cushions, with light stains treated only after asking you.
  • Mirrors and glass: cleaned without streaks, one of the first things a landlord notices at handover.
  • Electronics that came with the flat: the outside of the TV and remote wiped without spraying liquid directly.
  • Small kitchen appliances: the kettle and microwave wiped inside and out.

At the end of your lease

If you hand the flat back in a few weeks, a rooms-and-curtains visit a few days before handover, then a short kitchen-and-bathroom visit on moving day, is easier than trying to do everything on one day while carrying out suitcases.

What is not included in an hourly maid visit?

Left out of every visit: preparing full meals, minding children or elderly relatives alone while no family member is home, dangerous jobs or work at height, or exterior facades and the outside of windows. It also excludes moving heavy furniture, hosing down large yards, and pools or gardens.

In furnished flats we add two more points: the maid does not dismantle the landlord’s bed or wardrobe to move it, and she does not deal with faults such as a leaking AC or a blocked sink, which go to the landlord or maintenance. Ideally a woman from the family is in during the visit, or the tenant themselves if they live alone.

When to book in Al Futah: morning or evening, once or every week?

Visits are available in the morning and the evening, and the time is counted from when the maid arrives at your flat, not from when she sets out. If you work during the day, an evening slot or your day off usually suits best; any evening or Friday charge is told to you when you book.

How often depends on how long you are staying. On a one- or two-month let, a long visit at the start and another before you leave, with short visits in between when needed, is usually enough. For a longer stay a monthly package fits better, because a weekly visit stops dust building up on curtains and bedding in the first place.

Monthly packages are not a maid who lives with you. They are a set of hourly visits over the month, each 4 hours long:

Once a week4 visits x 4 hours468
Twice a week8 visits x 4 hours885
Three times a week12 visits x 4 hours1,325

Booking a maid in Al Futah, step by step

You book by phone or WhatsApp on 0561940026, and the maid comes at the agreed time; the company drops her off and collects her after the visit. The steps, in order:

  1. 1WhatsApp us the district (Al Futah), whether it is a furnished flat, studio or ordinary flat, and how many bedrooms and bathrooms it has.
  2. 2List the tasks: curtains, bedding, wardrobe, kitchen, bathroom, or a general tidy.
  3. 3Choose the length and the time slot; our team confirms the price and any evening or holiday charge before the visit.
  4. 4Send the building location pin with the floor and flat number, and tell us if there is a guard or a keypad door.
  5. 5Basic cleaning tools come with the maid; who supplies the cleaning products is settled at booking.
  6. 6Need another time or a different maid? A WhatsApp message with good notice before the visit sorts it, and if you liked her you can request the same maid again when she is free.

Are the maids legally employed, and what nationalities are available?

Yes. Every maid we send works legally on a valid iqama, is trained in household work and wears a modest uniform. The pool includes African maids, Kenyan and Ugandan among them, and Bangladeshi maids, and the mix on offer depends on who is free when you book.

This matters to tenants in central Riyadh in particular, because random offers of “hourly” maids are common in busy districts. Under the Domestic Workers Regulation a household may not let its own domestic worker take jobs for other people; the penalty reaches SAR 20,000 or a ban on recruiting for as long as three years. The Passports directorate (Jawazat) adds that anyone who hires, houses or drives a residency violator risks prison of up to six months plus a fine as high as SAR 100,000. The safer choice is a company that takes responsibility for the worker.

Frequently asked questions

How much is an hourly maid in Al Futah?

A 4-hour visit with one maid is from SAR 138, a 2-hour visit from SAR 92 and a 5-hour visit from SAR 184. The final price depends on hours, number of maids, flat size and time slot.

Will the maid wash the curtains of a furnished flat?

She washes light sheer curtains if the fabric allows, and dusts and vacuums heavy curtains in place. Lined or velvet curtains are best left to a specialist cleaner.

How many hours does a studio need?

Two hours covers routine cleaning and tidying; four hours if you also want the bedding washed, the curtain dusted and the wardrobe sorted.

Does the maid change and wash the bed linen?

Yes. She strips the bed and starts the wash at the beginning of the visit, then makes the bed with clean linen and folds what has dried before leaving.

Can the maid reach a curtain high above the window?

Only what she can reach from a small, stable step. Anything needing a tall ladder or risky climbing is outside the visit.

I am only renting for two months. Do I need a package?

Not necessarily. A long visit at the start, another before handover and short visits in between is usually enough; packages suit longer stays.

Who provides the cleaning products?

The maid brings basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed when you book. Laundry detergent is best taken from your home.

Can the maid come in the evening after work?

Yes, visits run morning and evening, and any evening charge is confirmed when you book. Time is counted from the maid's arrival.

Does the maid fix faults in the flat?

No. Faults such as a leaking AC or a blocked sink go to the landlord or maintenance; the visit is for cleaning and tidying only.

Which nationalities are available?

African maids such as Kenyan and Ugandan, and Bangladeshi maids; availability changes at the time of booking.

How do I change the time or ask for the same maid?

Message us on WhatsApp 0561940026 well before the visit. You can ask for the same maid on later visits, subject to her availability.
