Hourly Maids in Al Uraija Al Gharbi, Riyadh

Many families in Al Uraija Al Gharbi live in independent floors and apartments inside residential buildings, alongside villas, and two things wear them out: wide floors that show every footprint, and a dining room that fills up with the family and then needs someone to put it back together. Gulf Al-Arab Company offers hourly maids in Al Uraija Al Gharbi, Riyadh: a 4-hour visit with one maid from SAR 138, with 2, 5, 6 and 8-hour options, morning or evening, and we drop the maid off and collect her. To book, call or WhatsApp us on 0561940026.

An “hourly maid” (some people say part-time maid) is not a live-in worker. She comes for a set number of hours, cleans and tidies, and leaves the same day. You pay for the visit, not for a monthly contract or a residence permit.

What makes homes in Al Uraija Al Gharbi different?

Many of them are floors: a family on the ground floor and another family upstairs, or a residential building with similar-sized flats. Al Uraija Al Gharbi is a district in west Riyadh under the Al Uraija sub-municipality, and some lists group it with Namar. You will also see it written “Al Uraija Al Gharbiyah” or “Al Uraija West”. It is not the same district as plain Al Uraija or Al Uraija Al Wusta, even though the three share a name and a direction. Property listings mention Al Suhaifat Street, and the housing mix is villas, floors, flats and residential buildings.

That mix changes how a visit works. The ground-floor family deals with dust that comes in through the front door and the small yard. The upstairs family deals with a shared staircase and a narrow entrance. The flat in a building wants a tight visit that ends on time, because the home is compact and every room is in use. So we do not suggest the same visit to everyone. When you book, we ask two questions: how many rooms do you have, and what is your floor made of?

Why the floor? Because in these homes the floor is the biggest surface the maid touches, and the first thing you notice when you walk in. Older ceramic tiles, marble and glossy porcelain each need a different approach, and the wrong product or too much water leaves patches and streaks that show up in the afternoon light.

How much is an hourly maid in Al Uraija Al Gharbi?

A 4-hour visit with one maid in Al Uraija Al Gharbi starts from SAR 138, which is usually enough for one floor or a mid-sized flat. These are the rows of our Riyadh price list that suit the floors and buildings in this district:

Visit typeDetailsFrom (SAR)
2 hours, one maidDining and living room after a family gathering, or a quick mop before guests92
4 hours, one maidFlat or floor: floors, kitchen, bathrooms, tidying138
5 hoursA large floor with more time on tiles and grout184
Two maids for 4 hoursOne on the kitchen and dishes, one on the dining and living rooms296
Twice-weekly plan, 8 visits of 4 hoursFor a large family whose home gets messy fast885

What you finally pay moves with the hours, how many maids come, the size of the floor and the slot you pick; any evening, Friday or holiday charge is confirmed at booking. An extra hour at the end of a visit starts from SAR 52, and for anything else not in the table, ask about the price on WhatsApp.

How can you tell what your floor is made of before booking?

The easiest way is to look at a tile in the window light. If it shines like a mirror with sharp edges, it is probably porcelain. If it has natural, non-repeating veins, it is marble. If it is matt with wide grout lines, it is the kind of ceramic common in homes that have been lived in for a while. Tell us what you see, or send a photo on WhatsApp, and we will brief the maid before she arrives.

Glossy porcelain

Very little water and a flat microfibre mop, then a dry pass so no streaks show in the light.

Marble

A gentle, non-acidic cleaner. No vinegar or lemon, because acid dulls the shine over time.

Older ceramic

The grout is what gets dirty, so the maid brushes it in the busiest spots.

Parquet and wood

Almost-dry mopping only; water is never left standing on the floor.

A note on products

If you are supplying the cleaning products, do not hand the maid a strong bathroom cleaner and ask her to use it on marble. Agree on one product per surface, or leave the choice to the maid as agreed when booking.

How does the maid mop a whole floor in one visit?

She works in an order that stops her from dirtying what she has just cleaned: she starts in the inner rooms furthest from the door and finishes at the entrance, because the entrance is the last place anyone steps before she leaves. Before mopping she sweeps or vacuums everywhere, since the fine dust that reaches homes in west Riyadh turns into a thin layer of mud the moment it meets water.

On a floor with young children, she starts with the play areas before they wake up or after they go out. On a floor where elderly relatives live, she makes sure the floor is completely dry after mopping so nobody slips. In every case she does not move heavy furniture, but she mops under whatever lifts easily: chairs, small tables and light rugs.

If the floor is large, with two living rooms and a majlis, 4 hours usually covers the floors plus the kitchen and bathrooms. If you also want time on the grout, corners and under the sofas, choose 5 hours. Whatever is left can be the first job of the next visit, so the home moves forward week by week.

Tip

Ask for the kitchen floor to be the last job in the kitchen, after the dishes and counters, because drips and grease land on the floor while she works.

The dining room after a family gathering: what does the maid do?

She puts the dining room back the way it was: clears what is left on the table to the kitchen, washes the plates and glasses, wipes the table top and chairs, then sweeps under the table and mops. In family homes the dining room is not a room used once a month. Many families gather there every Friday for lunch, married sons and daughters come with their children, and what is left afterwards takes the household hours.

For this we suggest a short visit the next day, or an evening visit the same day once the guests have left, if a slot is available. If the table is large and there are many dishes, two maids for 4 hours save time: one in the kitchen with the plates and light pots, the other in the dining room, the living room and the bathroom near the majlis.

Table top and chairs first, then the floor under the table

Small things in the dining room that take time

  • Upholstered chairs: crumbs come off with the vacuum, and light marks are dabbed with a damp cloth without soaking the fabric.
  • Glass table tops: they need a dry cloth after wiping, otherwise rings show in the light.
  • Sideboards and plate shelves: items are straightened and dust comes off the visible surfaces.
  • The floor under the table: the place where most food falls, so it is swept before it is mopped.

Note

The maid does not cook the family meal, but she helps with simple preparation, setting the table and serving hospitality, then cleans up afterwards.

Twice a week for a large family: how do you split the work?

Make the first visit about floors, bathrooms and the kitchen, and the second about laundry, ironing, the dining room and the bedrooms. A large family on one floor makes mess faster than a weekly visit can keep up with, especially if relatives come over at the weekend. The 8 visits × 4 hours monthly package, twice a week, starts from SAR 885 and stops the home from ever reaching the point of backlog.

The idea is that the second visit does not repeat the first. If the first is on Sunday, it resets the home after the weekend: floors, kitchen, bathrooms. If the second is on Wednesday, it prepares for the coming weekend: washing, ironing and folding, with the dining room and majlis ready for guests. Here is a suggested plan you can adjust:

VisitFocusLeft for later
First visit of the weekAll floors, the kitchen after the weekend, bathroomsLaundry is only sorted
Second visit of the weekWashing, ironing and folding, dining room, bedroomsA quick mop of the entrance and kitchen
Once a month, in one of the visitsInside of windows, dust on top of wardrobes at a safe heightFewer rooms that day to make room

A small flat does not need all this: the 4 visits × 4 hours package, once a week, starts from SAR 468 and is usually enough for a two or three-bedroom flat.

Are shared stairs and building entrances part of the visit?

The visit covers what belongs to your home: your front door, its threshold and the area right outside it, and the internal staircase if you live in a villa. A shared staircase used by everyone in the building is normally the landlord’s responsibility, so we prefer to agree on it in advance if you want it included in the time. On independent floors with a private entrance, the maid mops the entrance and the short inner stairs; hosing down an outdoor yard is not part of a visit.

Because some buildings in the district have no visible name and flat doors often look alike, we ask for your flat number and floor when you book, plus your location pin on WhatsApp. That saves the maid from searching, so the visit time starts inside your home, not on the stairwell.

What is included in a visit, and what is not?

A visit covers ordinary housework inside the home. It does not cover dangerous, heavy or outdoor work. This table shows the difference:

IncludedNot included
Sweeping and mopping every floor typeMoving heavy furniture or wardrobes
Kitchen, dishes and countersCooking full meals
Bathrooms, basins and mirrorsExterior facades and work at height
Laundry, ironing and foldingSole care of children or elderly relatives
Inside of windows and dustingHosing down large courtyards
Majlis and rugs with the vacuum, guest hospitalitySwimming pools and gardens

It works best when a lady of the house is in, to point out what matters most and look over the rooms before the maid leaves. She arrives with her basic cleaning kit; whether products come with her or you use your own is settled on the booking call.

How do you book an hourly maid in Al Uraija Al Gharbi?

You book by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 0561940026, in a few short steps:

  1. 1Send what you need: type of home (floor, flat or villa), number of rooms, and floor type if you know it.
  2. 2Pick the length and slot: 2, 4, 5 hours or more, morning or evening.
  3. 3Share your location: a location pin plus the floor or flat number.
  4. 4Confirmation: we confirm the time, the price and any evening or Friday charge.
  5. 5The visit: the clock starts when the maid arrives, and we collect her when she is done.

Found a maid you are happy with? Ask for her by name next time, and she comes back whenever her schedule allows. Any change of time, or a request for a different maid, is done on WhatsApp well before the appointment.

Morning or evening: which slot suits homes here?

A morning slot suits homes where the mother stays in after the children leave for school, so the maid cleans the rooms while they are empty. An evening slot suits couples who both work, or families who want the dining room done after an afternoon gathering. The clock starts when the maid reaches your home, so if nobody opens the door, the start is delayed; we recommend someone being home close to the appointment time.

On an 8-hour visit the maid takes a break in the middle, because the regulations do not allow more than 5 consecutive working hours without rest. We place that break so it does not cut into an important job, for example after the kitchen is finished and before the bedrooms.

Who are the maids, and why does it matter that they are legally employed?

The maids we send come from Kenya and Uganda among other African countries, and from Bangladesh; who is free depends on the day you book. Each one holds a valid iqama, works for us legally, has been trained in household work and wears a modest uniform.

This matters for you as much as for us. Under the Domestic Workers Regulation (published in Umm Al-Qura), a household that sends its own worker to clean for neighbours can be fined as much as 20,000 riyals, or barred from recruiting for as long as three years. And the General Directorate of Passports lists penalties for anyone who hires a worker breaking residence or labour rules: fines reaching 100,000 riyals, plus a possible six-month jail term. A maid sent by a company that answers for her paperwork keeps your floor, and your family, out of that risk.
