In a large family villa in Al Awali, two scenes repeat every week: an oven and hob carrying several days of cooking, and a pile of clean clothes out of the dryer that nobody has had time to fold. For exactly these two corners, and the rest of the home with them, Gulf Al-Arab Company offers hourly maids in Al Awali, Riyadh: a 4-hour visit with one maid from SAR 138, or 6 and 8 hours for villas, morning or evening, with the maid dropped off and collected by us. To book, call or WhatsApp us on 0561940026.
“Hourly maid” here means a part-time housekeeper who comes for a set number of hours and goes home afterwards. There is no live-in arrangement and nothing for you to sponsor.

Al Awali, west Riyadh: villas, compounds and flats along Najm Al-Din Al-Ayyubi
Al Awali is a west Riyadh district under the Namar sub-municipality, and some property portals file its listings under Dhahrat Namar or Tuwaiq, which places it on the south-western side of the west. Najm Al-Din Al-Ayyubi Street and Al Tawhid Street appear again and again in its listings, along with streets such as Saeed bin Siddiq, Sabya, Junadah bin Malik and Al Sakha. Homes are mostly villas, with flats, residential compounds for rent on Najm Al-Din Al-Ayyubi and Al Tawhid, and showrooms and offices along the main roads.
So most requests here come from large family villas: a kitchen in use every day, many rooms and laundry that never stops. These homes need more than someone to mop the floor. They need someone to take on the jobs that pile up, like the oven nobody cleans until just before Eid, or the clothes that sit in baskets until their owners go looking for them. That is why this page focuses on those two jobs and explains how they fit into the rest of a visit.
What does an hourly maid cost for a villa in Al Awali?
A 4-hour visit with one maid in Al Awali starts from SAR 138, but a whole villa usually needs 6 or 8 hours. The options below run from longest to shortest, because villas are the most common homes here:
| Visit type | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| 8 hours, one maid | Both floors of the villa with kitchen and laundry, with a mid-visit break | 234 |
| 6 hours | Kitchen and oven plus living rooms and bathrooms, or laundry and folding plus bedrooms | 204 |
| Two maids for 4 hours | One in the kitchen, one on laundry and bedrooms | 296 |
| 4 hours, one maid | A flat, or a deep clean of the kitchen alone | 138 |
| 12 visits × 4 hours (3 a week) | For a big family that wants the home ready all week | 1,325 |
The final price moves with the hours, the number of maids, the size of the villa and the time slot, and any evening, Friday or holiday charge is confirmed when you book. If you want her to stay on, an extra hour starts from SAR 52; for anything not in the table, ask about the price on WhatsApp.
Does the maid clean the inside of the oven and the hob?
Yes. She cleans the oven inside, the hob and the area around it, as long as both are switched off and cool. When grease has built up for weeks it takes time, so we suggest making the kitchen the main focus of at least one visit a month, rather than a rushed job at the end of every visit.
She starts by taking out the oven racks and trays and soaking them in warm water with a suitable cleaner; meanwhile she wipes the inside of the oven and lets the product work on stubborn spots for a few minutes. Then she moves to the hob: lifts and cleans the pan supports, wipes the surface, and works around the burners without flooding them. Back to the soaked racks, she scrubs, rinses and dries them, cleans the oven door glass inside and out, and finishes with the outside of the extractor hood and the wall behind the hob.

Glass hob
A soft cloth and a glass-safe cleaner; no steel wool, which scratches the surface.
Gas hob
Supports and burner caps are cleaned once lifted off; no water is sprayed into the gas ports.
Built-in oven
Racks soaked, interior wiped, door glass cleaned on both sides.
Extractor hood
Wiped outside; filters come out only if they can be reached safely.
Please note
If you cooked in the morning, switch off the oven and hob well before the maid arrives. Hot surfaces are not cleaned, because the product burns onto them and leaves marks.
Indoor and outdoor kitchen: can both be done in one visit?
Yes, if the visit is long enough. Many Riyadh villas have two kitchens: a clean indoor one for light everyday use, and an outdoor one for heavy cooking, whole lamb and big family meals. The outdoor kitchen is usually the greasiest; its floor needs sweeping and mopping and its counters and utensils need washing. If you want both kitchens with the oven and hob in each, we suggest 6 hours, or two maids for 4 hours with one kitchen each.
Not included here: hosing down the outdoor kitchen floor or the courtyard around it, and moving heavy appliances such as large fridges or freestanding cookers to clean behind them. Cleaning the inside of the fridge and organising its shelves is included.
After a feast: big pots and serving trays
After a big gathering the kitchen is left with what no dishwasher can take: large rice pots, serving trays, coffee pots and dallahs, and food containers. The maid washes these by hand, soaking anything with stuck-on food first, then working from light to heavy, and drying the dallahs and pots thoroughly so no smell lingers. Very large pots that are hard to lift are washed where they stand as far as possible; she will not carry anything that is unsafe to lift. For a day like this we suggest a visit the next morning of at least 5 hours, because a post-feast kitchen needs a full reset, not just washing up.
Does your Al Awali kitchen need a full day?
Tell us how many kitchens you have and what type of hob and oven, and we will suggest the right length.
Book nowWhatsApp 0561940026CallThe clean-laundry mountain: how does the maid fold and put it away?
She folds by owner and puts things away where they belong, not in one pile on the bed. In a big family home the problem is rarely the washing itself; it is what comes after. Clothes for parents, sons and daughters get mixed up, towels and bed sets take up space, and school uniforms need ironing before Sunday morning. The maid first sorts the clean laundry into a group for each room, then folds each group in a way that keeps its shape, then places it in the drawers and shelves you point out.

Each item has its own method, so here is a table of what you can ask for:
| Item | How the maid handles it | Tip for the household |
|---|---|---|
| Men’s thobes | Ironed and hung, never folded | Have enough hangers in the wardrobe |
| Abayas | Hung, or folded long depending on the fabric | Tell her which ones need only a light press |
| School uniforms | Ironed and hung separately for each child | Ask for them on the Thursday or end-of-week visit |
| Towels | Folded to one size and stacked on a shelf | Keep a towel shelf apart from bed linen |
| Bed linen | Each set folded inside its own pillowcase | Whole sets are easy to find later |
| Children’s clothes | Folded small and placed in drawers | Label the drawers if you like |
Tip
Ask her to start the washing machine at the beginning of the visit; she folds the first load while the second runs, and the visit ends with empty baskets.
How do you split the week between kitchen and laundry?
The easiest way is to give each visit a focus, while the light routine jobs happen every time. With the 12 visits × 4 hours monthly package, three visits a week, the first can cover the kitchen, oven and hob, the second washing, ironing and folding, and the third bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms. On every visit the maid washes the day’s dishes and mops the entrances. Big jobs never pile up, and no single visit turns into a race against the clock.
If a weekly visit is enough, the 4 visits × 4 hours package starts from SAR 468, and the focus can alternate: kitchen one week, laundry the next. The 8-visit package, twice a week, starts from SAR 885.
When should you choose two maids instead of one maid for longer?
Choose two maids when you have two big jobs at once, or when the home must be finished by a set time. One maid for 8 hours gets a lot done, but she needs most of the day including her break; two maids for 4 hours get through a similar amount in half the time, one in the kitchen and oven, the other on laundry, folding and bedrooms. That suits you if, say, guests are coming in the evening and you want the cleaning finished by mid-afternoon.
If the work runs in sequence, such as washing the bedding and then making the beds, or soaking the oven racks before scrubbing them, one maid for longer may suit you better, because the waiting is part of the job. Either way, we help you choose when you book, based on what you describe.
Ramadan and Eid in Al Awali villas: where do you start?
Start with the kitchen a few days before Ramadan, because during the month the kitchen works every evening for iftar and suhoor, and walking into a clean one saves you the whole month. After the kitchen come the majlis and dining room, then bed linen and light curtains. Before Eid the same happens with clothes: Eid thobes ironed and hung, guest rooms prepared, and the kitchen cleaned again after days of heavy cooking. During Ramadan a visit can be in the late morning or after iftar depending on availability, and times are confirmed when you book.
Living in an Al Awali compound: what to do before the visit
Send us the compound name, your villa or flat number and a location pin, and let the gate guard know in advance that a maid is coming. The residential compounds on Najm Al-Din Al-Ayyubi and Al Tawhid have gates, and if the guard is not expecting her she may be left waiting at the entrance. The clock starts when she reaches your home, so a quick heads-up saves you time.
For standalone villas outside compounds, the pin and villa number are enough; if there is a back door or a service entrance, tell us. We also prefer a lady of the house to be in during the visit, to set the priorities and look things over at the end.
What is not included in an Al Awali villa visit?
A visit is for the inside of the home, so anything outside, dangerous or heavy is left out. In Al Awali villas people often ask about the yard, the pool and the garden; those are outside the service, and so are:
- Cooking whole meals, although the maid can help with simple chopping and setting out hospitality.
- Looking after children or elderly relatives alone, without family present.
- Climbing to heights, exterior facades and the outside of windows.
- Moving heavy furniture and large appliances.
- Hosing down big courtyards, pools and gardens.
Everything else in normal housework is in, from bedrooms and bathrooms to the majlis and rugs with a vacuum and the inside of the windows.
The maid comes with her own basic set of cleaning tools, and which products she uses is agreed when you book. If you prefer a particular oven or glass cleaner, leave it out for her on the kitchen counter.

The maids we send and the rules that protect you
Our team includes women from Kenya, Uganda and other African countries, as well as from Bangladesh, and who is on duty for your visit depends on the booking day. Every one of them is legally employed, holds a valid iqama, is trained for household work and wears modest dress. On an 8-hour visit she takes a break in the middle, since the Domestic Workers Regulation caps continuous work at 5 hours without rest.
That same regulation bars employers from hiring out their own domestic worker to others, with fines capped at 20,000 riyals or a recruitment ban lasting as long as three years. The General Directorate of Passports, for its part, punishes the use of workers who break residence and labour rules with fines that may reach 100,000 riyals, plus jail time. Having the maid come from a company that is responsible for her is the safer route.
