Hourly Maids in Badr, Riyadh

Floors are the first thing you notice in a clean home, and the first thing that gives away a home left for two weeks. That is why Gulf Al-Arab Company offers hourly maids in Badr, Riyadh with visits that pay attention to tiles, grout and balconies alongside the usual kitchen, bathroom and bedroom cleaning. An hourly maid is a part-time cleaner who comes for the hours you book, not a live-in worker. A 4-hour visit with one maid starts from SAR 138, and can be extended when the floors need deeper care. To book, call or WhatsApp 0561940026.

Badr by the numbers

  • Flat with a balcony: 4 hours, one maid, from SAR 138
  • Tile grout: a 5-hour visit from SAR 184 for a medium home
  • Two-storey home: two maids for 4 hours, from SAR 296
  • After a dust storm: 6 hours from SAR 204 for balconies, windows and floors
  • Weekly upkeep: 4 visits a month, from SAR 468
  • Extra hour: from SAR 52

Where does the maid start in a Badr home?

The maid starts high and finishes with the floors, because whatever is wiped from shelves, windows and the balcony ends up on the floor. But in homes where the floors are the main problem, we give the floor more time in the visit and plan the other jobs around it.

By floors we do not just mean a quick sweep and mop. We mean the grout lines that darken over time, the corners behind doors and under furniture, door thresholds, and the balcony floor where dust gathers. These spots are not covered on a short routine visit and need planning so they do not eat the whole visit. That is why we ask when you book: general cleaning, a focus on floors, or both?

How much is an hourly maid in Badr for floors and general cleaning?

A 2-hour visit for the balcony alone starts from SAR 92, a 4-hour visit for a whole flat from SAR 138, and cleaning that includes grout across the whole home usually needs five hours or more. This table links each visit to the floor work it covers:

Visit typeDetailsFrom (SAR)
Two hoursthe balcony: floor, railing and glass from inside92
4 hoursa whole flat with sweeping, mopping, kitchen and bathrooms138
5 hoursgeneral cleaning plus grout in the kitchen and bathrooms184
6 hoursafter a dust wave: all balconies, windows and floors204
Two maids for 4 hoursa two-storey home: one maid on floors, one on everything else296

The final price depends on hours, number of maids, the size of the home and the shift. Any charge for evenings, Fridays or holidays is stated in the confirmation message before the visit. If you want marble ground or polished with machines, that is a job for specialist companies, not an hourly maid; good manual cleaning of marble, ceramic and porcelain, though, is exactly her work.

Badr district in south Riyadh

Badr is a residential district in south Riyadh, under the Ash Shifa sub-municipality alongside Al Marwah, Okaz and Ash Shifa. Its name is sometimes mixed up in searches because “Badr” is a common name for streets and shops, so when looking for the service, type “Badr district” with “Riyadh” or “south Riyadh” to reach what concerns your area.

Homes in Badr are typically flats in residential buildings, many with balconies, as well as duplexes and two-storey houses. Floors vary in these homes: ceramic in bedrooms and living rooms, glossy porcelain in entrances, sometimes marble on the stairs or in the majlis, and anti-slip tiles in bathrooms and on balconies. Each needs different handling, which the next section explains.

Making it easy to find your Badr home

Send the location of your home on the map via WhatsApp, with the floor number if it is a building, and anything distinctive about the gate. On look-alike side streets an exact pin is faster than any description.

How does the maid handle each type of floor?

The basic rule is that every floor is swept first and then mopped, but the cleaner, the amount of water and the drying method change from one floor to another. The wrong product can leave marks on porcelain or dull the shine of marble, so here is what the maid does in each case:

Floor typeWhere you usually find itHow it is cleaned on the visit
Standard ceramicbedrooms, living rooms, kitchensweep, then mop with water and a neutral cleaner; dry wet areas
Glossy porcelainentrances and large hallslittle water, a mild cleaner, and an immediate dry mop so no streaks remain
Natural marblestairs and sometimes the majlisneutral cleaner only: no vinegar, lemon or acidic products
Anti-slip tilesbathrooms and balconiesscrubbed with a brush, since the rough surface traps dirt
Parquet or woodsome bedroomsvacuum, then a nearly dry mop, never much water

If you have a product made for your floor, such as a marble or parquet cleaner, leave it out for the maid and ask her to use it; it is better for your floor than any general cleaner. In homes with more than one floor type, the maid does the delicate ones such as marble and wood early in the visit while she is fresh, then moves on to ceramic and bathrooms.

A mistake we often see in homes is using lots of cleaner in the belief that it cleans better; the result is a sticky film that attracts dust quickly and makes the floor look dull a day later. The maid uses a small, diluted amount, changes the bucket water whenever it gets dirty, and follows the wet mop with a dry one on glossy floors. These details are the difference between a mopped floor and a genuinely clean one.

Tile grout: when does it need extra time?

Grout needs extra time once its colour has turned from white or light grey to dark, which usually happens in front of the hob, on bathroom floors and around basins. Cleaning grout is hand work by nature: the maid scrubs each line with a small brush, so it is charged by time. A medium bathroom floor can take twenty minutes to half an hour on its own.

She sprays a suitable grout cleaner and leaves it a few minutes to work, scrubs along the lines with a stiff brush, then wipes the cleaner off with a damp cloth and dries the area. Where grout has turned very dark from long-term damp, manual cleaning may not bring back the original colour fully; the fix then is regrouting, which is a trade job and not part of a maid visit.

Keeping grout clean afterwards

Dry the bathroom floor with a mop after showers, run the extractor fan, and wipe oil spots in front of the hob the same day. These small habits make the next grout visit much shorter.

We do not recommend doing all the grout in the house in one visit unless it is a long one. It is better to split it: the kitchen one visit, the bathrooms the next, the entrance and corridors a third. That way the rest of the housework keeps moving every visit, and the family never feels a whole visit went on one corner.

Balcony cleaning: what gets done and what is left?

Balcony cleaning on a visit includes sweeping and mopping the floor, wiping the railing and any small seating, and cleaning the glass and sliding door from inside and from the safe side of the balcony. Cleaning the building’s exterior, or glass that can only be reached by leaning over the railing, is not part of the maid’s work on any floor.

She first removes dry dust with a broom or brush before any water, because water on thick dust turns to mud that is hard to collect. Then she cleans the sliding-door track where sand builds up, wipes the railing, and mops the floor with a mop and bucket using moderate water so nothing drips onto the neighbours’ balcony below. She finishes with the door glass from inside.

Safety on balconies

The maid does not stand on a chair or box on the balcony, and does not lean over the railing to clean exterior glass. If your outside glass needs cleaning, that is a job for facade companies with safety equipment.

After a dust storm: in what order should the home be cleaned?

After a dust storm, start with balconies and windows, then surfaces and furniture, then floors last; otherwise dust just moves from one place to another. It is best to book the visit once the wind has fully died down, not during it, because dust comes back with every opened door.

First: the balcony

clear dry dust and clean door tracks before any water.

Second: windows

wipe sills and glass from inside, and vacuum the curtains.

Third: furniture

wipe surfaces, shelves and appliances from top to bottom.

Last: floors

a careful sweep, then mop, including corners and under furniture.

For a home with two or more balconies and many windows, we suggest a 6-hour visit after a storm, from SAR 204, or two maids for four hours. A small flat with one balcony may manage with a normal 4-hour visit, provided the maid sticks to this order.

A two-storey home in Badr: how do two maids split the work?

In a two-storey house or duplex, the two maids work at the same time, one per floor, or one handles floors and bathrooms while the other takes the kitchen, bedrooms and laundry. That way a two-maid, four-hour visit, from SAR 296, gets through roughly what one maid would do in eight hours, in half the time.

Splitting by floor suits homes where the ground floor holds the majlis, living room and kitchen and the upper floor the bedrooms, since each maid stays in her area and their work never overlaps. Splitting by task suits homes where most of the work is floors, such as a house with a long marble staircase and wide porcelain entrances, so one maid can stay on the floors from start to finish. We ask about the layout when you book to suggest which split fits, and you can change it on the day as you see fit.

Ground floor

majlis, living room, kitchen and entrance, including glossy floors and the stairs.

Upper floor

bedrooms, bathrooms, balconies, washing and ironing.

In between

the staircase is done last, top to bottom, so it does not get dirty again.

If your home needs this level of work every week, it is usually better value to take a plan of two visits a week with one maid, 8 visits a month from SAR 885, with each visit covering one floor. Two maids together suit the times you need the whole house clean in one day, such as before a gathering or after a dust storm.

What is not part of an hourly maid’s work?

A visit does not include full cooking, sole care of children or elderly relatives, machine grinding of marble, exterior facades or risky work at height, moving heavy furniture to clean underneath, hosing large yards, pools or gardens. If you want the area under a heavy sofa cleaned, ask someone at home to move it before the visit.

Apart from that, a visit covers everything a home normally needs: bedrooms and living areas, the kitchen and dishes, bathrooms, washing, ironing and folding, the inside of windows, vacuuming the majlis and rugs, and dusting. It can also include setting up hospitality for gatherings, and cleaning before moving in or after moving out. It is preferable for a lady of the house to be present during the visit.

Book your Badr maid in five steps

  1. 1Location: send your Badr home pin on the map and the floor number.
  2. 2Home and floors: flat, duplex or house, the floor type if you know it, and the number of balconies.
  3. 3Priority: general cleaning, tile grout, or balconies after dust.
  4. 4Time: morning or evening, and your preferred day.
  5. 5Confirmation: we send the price and time; the maid brings basic cleaning tools, and products are as agreed when booking.

The visit time counts from when the maid reaches your home, and transport both ways is on us. You can change the time or the maid with a WhatsApp message well in advance, and you can ask for the same maid on later visits if she is free, which helps especially with floors: a maid who has done your grout once knows where the stains concentrate.

Legal, trained maids

The maids we send to Badr are legally employed on valid iqamas, trained in home cleaning, and wear a modest uniform. They are mostly from African countries such as Kenya and Uganda, or from Bangladesh, and who is available varies with your booking time. Booking through a company protects you from the offence of using irregular workers, which can carry Passports fines of up to SAR 100,000, and from breaching the Domestic Workers Regulation, which bars employing a domestic worker for others, with fines of up to SAR 20,000.
