In the traditional family homes of Al Fakhiriyah, the kitchen is the part of the house that needs the most care, followed by the inner courtyard that gathers dust every day. Gulf Al-Arab Company therefore provides hourly maids in Al Fakhiriyah, Riyadh who clean the oven, hob and kitchen grease, sweep and mop the courtyard and handle the rest of the housework. A 4-hour visit with one maid starts from SAR 138, and other lengths run from 2 to 8 hours. Bookings are taken by phone or WhatsApp on 0561940026.

How are Al Fakhiriyah homes different to clean?
Many homes in Al Fakhiriyah are older family houses where cooking happens every day, and many have an open inner courtyard that lets dust into the rooms. Al Fakhiriyah lies in west Riyadh and falls within the Ash Shumaisi sub-municipality, and property guides describe it as a “lively, traditional (sha’bi) district”: an older residential area with houses close together, plenty of activity and shops nearby. There are also furnished apartments in the district, some of them listed for booking on Al Watari Street.
This character changes the priorities of a visit. In a modern apartment the biggest nuisance may be dust on surfaces, but in a traditional house where a mother cooks for a large family, the heaviest job is the kitchen: grease on the wall behind the hob, an oven that has not been cleaned inside for weeks, and a kitchen floor that feels sticky underfoot. Then comes the courtyard, which needs regular sweeping and mopping so the children do not carry its dust into the majlis and the bedrooms.
If you are new to Riyadh, the terms “hourly maid” and “part-time maid” both mean a housekeeper booked for a set number of hours, who goes home when the time is up rather than living in. In this guide we explain what she does in these two areas in particular, how long each one takes, and what stays outside the visit so nothing surprises you on the day. If you live in an apartment in the district rather than a house with a courtyard, the sections below still apply to you.
What does an hourly maid in Al Fakhiriyah charge?
A 4-hour visit with one maid in Al Fakhiriyah starts from SAR 138, which is usually enough for a family kitchen including the oven and hob and part of the house. These are the visit lengths closest to what homes in the district need:
| Visit type | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| 4 hours | One maid, the whole kitchen with oven, hob and dishes | 138 |
| 5 hours | One maid, kitchen, courtyard, majlis and bathrooms | 184 |
| Two maids for 4 hours | Two-storey house: one for kitchen and courtyard, one for the rooms | 296 |
| Extra hour | A heavily greased oven or the kitchen after a big gathering | 52 |
| 8 visits × 4 hours package | Two visits a week for a house that cooks every day | 885 |
Your final price follows the hours booked, how many maids come, how big the house is and which slot you pick. Any evening, Friday or holiday charge is confirmed at booking. If you need a service without a price here, ask about it on WhatsApp.
Hourly oven and hob cleaning: what does the maid do?
The maid takes apart the removable parts of the hob and soaks them, then cleans the hob surface, the oven door and the inside shelves with a suitable degreaser. The order matters: soaking comes first because it needs time, then she works on the rest of the kitchen, and only then returns to the grates and burner caps once the grease has softened, scrubbing, rinsing and drying them before putting them back.
The inside of an oven needs patience more than force. The racks are removed and soaked, the interior is coated with cleaner and left for a while, then wiped with a non-metal scourer so the coating is not scratched. The door glass is cleaned inside and out so you can see into the oven without opening it. Very old, burnt-on grease may need two visits to disappear, but the difference shows from the first one.

For the cooker hood, the maid wipes the front and underside from a safe height and cleans the metal filters if they come out easily. She does not climb on unstable surfaces to reach the tops of high cupboards, because the visit does not include work with a risk of falling. If you have a small, stable household step stool, let her know and she will use it only for a modest reach.
Before the kitchen visit
Avoid cooking in the hour before the visit if you can, so the oven and hob are cool and the maid can start on them straight away. Empty the oven of any trays or pans stored inside it.
Kitchen grease in a traditional house: where does the visit start and finish?
The visit starts where grease and dust fall from, working from top to bottom, and finishes with the floor. If the floor were mopped first and the cupboards cleaned afterwards, whatever dropped on it would need mopping again. So the maid works through the kitchen in this order:
- Upper cupboard fronts and handles from a safe height, then the tiles behind the hob and sink where the grease film builds up.
- The hob, oven and hood as described, plus small appliances such as the microwave and kettle on the outside.
- Open shelves and the outside of spice jars, then the marble or granite worktop.
- Plates and large pots, then the sink and tap until they shine.
- Lower cupboard fronts, then sweeping the floor and mopping it with a cleaner that lifts stickiness.
In the district’s older houses the kitchen floor is sometimes old tile with darkened grout lines. The grout is brushed and improves a lot, but its colour may not come back fully if the material itself is worn. We say this plainly so your expectations are realistic.

The maid sweeps, mops and tidies a small inner courtyard, but she does not hose down large courtyards. In a traditional house the courtyard (hosh) is family space: children play there, washing is sometimes hung there, and it holds plant pots and chairs. Because it is open to the sky, dust blows in with every wind, and sweeping it once a week greatly reduces the dirt that travels indoors.
The maid starts by moving light chairs and pots, sweeps the floor from the edges to the middle, gathers leaves and dust, then mops the tiles with water and cleaner. She also wipes the threshold of the door into the house, the handles of doors opening onto the courtyard, and the windows that face it from the inside. Finally she puts the chairs and pots back in place.

The table below shows which parts of a traditional house are included in the visit and which are not, so you know before booking what to expect from the hours:
| Part of the house | What the maid does | Not included |
|---|---|---|
| Small inner courtyard | Sweeping, mopping, tidying chairs and pots | Hosing down large courtyards |
| Kitchen | Oven, hob, tiles, cupboards and floor | Full cooking |
| Majlis and living room | Vacuuming rugs and floor seating, plumping cushions | Steam cleaning carpets |
| Windows and doors | Glass from the inside, frames and handles | Exterior facades and high windows from outside |
| Roof and annexe | Tidying and light sweeping inside a covered annexe | Open roofs and work at height |
How do you stop courtyard dust spreading into the rooms?
In a traditional house most of the dust does not come through the windows; it walks in through the courtyard door on feet and on the breeze. So after sweeping the courtyard the maid wipes the threshold and the strip of floor just inside the door, then shakes out or vacuums the doormat, because this strip is the first thing to carry dirt into the living room and majlis.
A habit we recommend in the district is a thick mat on both sides of the courtyard door and a spot for shoes before stepping inside. The maid also wipes the sills and tracks of windows facing the courtyard from the inside, since they fill with fine sand after every gust. With a weekly visit, the dust in the rooms drops noticeably within a few weeks, and the visits become shorter and easier.
If you keep plants in the courtyard, tell the maid when they are watered so she does not mop just before the watering and get the floor dirty again. These small details make the courtyard hour pay off for the rest of the week.
How many hours does a two-storey house in Al Fakhiriyah need?
A two-storey house in Al Fakhiriyah usually needs 5 to 6 hours with one maid when the kitchen is heavy, or two maids for 4 hours if you want it finished in half a day. These examples reflect common homes in the district:
Small furnished apartment
2 to 4 hours for the kitchen, bathroom and rooms, plus changing the linen.
One floor with a courtyard
4 hours for the kitchen and oven, sweeping the courtyard and tidying the rooms.
Two-storey house
5 to 6 hours with one maid, the kitchen first and then the upper floor.
Large family house
Two maids × 4 hours: one for the kitchen and courtyard, one for rooms and bathrooms.
If this is the first visit after a long time without cleaning, allow an extra hour for the kitchen, because built-up grease needs soaking and repeating. On regular visits after that the work gets faster, and 4 hours may be enough for the same house.
Morning before cooking, or afternoon after it?
For cleaning the kitchen and oven, a morning visit before cooking starts is best, so the maid finds the hob cold and the kitchen free. If the aim is washing up and tidying the kitchen after a big lunch, the evening slot suits better.
In homes where lunch is cooked early, the maid can start with the courtyard, majlis and rooms in the first two hours, then move to the kitchen once the cooking is done. This keeps the visit useful even if the kitchen is busy when she arrives. In every case the time is counted from the moment the maid arrives, and the company drives her to you and back.

What can you hand over on a visit, and what stays with you?
Think of the visit as covering everything inside the walls that a careful housekeeper would do. In an Al Fakhiriyah home that usually means the kitchen first, then bathrooms, bedrooms and the majlis: floors swept and mopped, dust wiped from shelves and sills, rugs and floor cushions vacuumed, glass cleaned on the inside, and a load of washing put through, ironed and folded if you wish. When relatives are coming, she can lay out the tea and coffee things, serve, and clean up after the guests leave; before Ramadan or Eid, or when you are moving house, the same hours go into a thorough clean.
What stays with the family is cooking full meals and minding children or elderly relatives, which are not part of an hourly maid’s role. Risky jobs are also excluded: ladders, high ledges and the outside of the house, heavy furniture, and washing a large yard with a hose, a pool or a garden. Basic cleaning tools come with the maid, cleaning products are as agreed at booking, and ideally a woman of the family is at home during the visit.
For furnished apartment owners
If you rent out a furnished apartment in the district, you can book a visit between guests to clean the kitchen and bathroom and change the linen. Tell us the check-out and check-in times so we can plan the slot.
How to book an hourly maid in Al Fakhiriyah
Book with a WhatsApp message or a call to 0561940026. Just send us the following:
- 1Say what matters most: the kitchen and oven, the courtyard, or the whole house.
- 2Give the number of floors, rooms and bathrooms, and whether there is an inner courtyard or annexe.
- 3Choose the day and time slot, and the number of hours, or ask us to suggest it.
- 4Send your home location pin, since inner streets in older districts are close together and easy to mix up.
- 5We confirm the time and price, bring the maid to your door and collect her after the visit.
You can ask for the same maid on later visits, subject to availability. This helps in the kitchen especially, because she learns where you keep your tools and how you like them arranged.
Why book through a company and not a maid from the street?
Because a maid who comes through the company holds a valid iqama, is trained, wears a modest uniform, and you carry no responsibility for her legal status. Our maids include African nationalities such as Kenyan and Ugandan, as well as Bangladeshi; which of them are free on your date is confirmed when you book.
Think twice before hiring an irregular worker
According to the General Directorate of Passports, anyone who transports, employs or shelters a worker in breach of residence and labour rules, including domestic workers, faces up to 6 months in prison and a fine of up to SAR 100,000, multiplied by the number of violators.
