Gulf Al Arab Company provides majlis and sofa cleaning in Al Baha for Arabic majlis sets, floor seating, sofa suites, corner sofas and upholstered chairs. The service covers deep vacuuming, stain removal, steam washing with extraction, then drying and brushing right where the majlis stands. A three-seater sofa starts from SAR 100, a corner sofa from SAR 220, a full sofa suite from SAR 370 and an Arabic majlis of about 12 metres from SAR 420.
In Al Baha homes the majlis is the face of the house, where guests are received at occasions, at Eid and on long winter evenings, so its seating and back cushions take heavy use and stains from coffee, tea and incense. This guide explains how we clean each type of seating, what suits each fabric, the price of each piece, and how the majlis dries before your guests arrive.
In short
- Sofas: Three-seater from SAR 100, corner sofa from SAR 220, full suite from SAR 370.
- Arabic majlis: About 12 metres from SAR 420, including floor cushions, back rests and pillows.
- Outdoor seating: Courtyard and roof sofas from SAR 135.
- Stains: Coffee, tea, oud oil, ink and grease treated according to type.
- Drying: Strong extraction, brushing and airing; the majlis usually dries within hours the same day.
- Delicate fabrics: For leather, silk velvet and embroidery, ask about the price at the inspection.
Majlis and sofa cleaning services in Al Baha
Majlis and sofa cleaning covers everything guests and family sit on: Arabic majlis sets with their floor cushions, back rests and pillows, floor seating in men’s and family majlis rooms, classic and modern sofa suites, large corner sofas, upholstered and dining chairs, poufs and small stools, and outdoor seating in courtyards and on roofs.
We do not treat a majlis as one piece but as parts, each with its own method: the floor cushion is thick and needs long vacuuming, the back rest is tall and takes the head and back so it soils from the top, small pillows are cleaned on both sides, and the wooden or metal base of a sofa is wiped without much water.

How much does majlis and sofa cleaning cost in Al Baha?
Majlis and sofa cleaning in Al Baha with Gulf Al Arab starts from SAR 100 for a three-seater sofa, SAR 220 for a corner sofa, SAR 370 for a full sofa suite and SAR 420 for an Arabic majlis of about 12 metres. The price includes vacuuming, stain treatment, washing and initial drying with the crew’s own equipment and products.
Starting prices for majlis and sofa cleaning:
| Service | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Three-seater sofa | Regular fabric with cushions | 100 |
| Corner sofa | One large connected piece | 220 |
| Full sofa suite | About a three-seater, two-seater and two singles | 370 |
| Arabic majlis | About 12 metres of floor cushions, back rests and pillows | 420 |
| Outdoor sofa | Courtyard or roof seating | 135 |
| Leather or silk velvet sofa | Special cleaning and conditioning | Ask about the price at the inspection |
A majlis longer than 12 metres, or one with tall back rests and many pillows, costs more according to length and number of pieces, and a suite with years of built-up stains needs more treatment time. If you also want the rug or fitted carpet under the majlis cleaned, it is priced per square metre and can be done on the same visit.
Sofa steam cleaning in Al Baha
Sofa steam cleaning starts from SAR 100 for a three-seater. We begin by removing loose cushions and vacuuming underneath and between the seams, treat the stains, wash with hot-water extraction and pass steam over the back and arms, clean the cushions on both sides, then brush the fabric and stand the cushions upright so air can move between them.

Majlis sofa suites differ from everyday living-room sofas: their fabric is often heavier, with embroidery, buttons or gilded edges, and their bases are carved wood. So we protect the wood and gilding with tape and cloth before working, clean around buttons and embroidery with a soft brush and a small head, and never let water reach the wood.
Modern sofas in linen or synthetic velvet wash well, but velvet changes shade with the direction of the pile, so we brush it one way after washing to avoid light and dark patches. For steam cleaning of mattresses, curtains and carpets as well, there is a separate guide: steam cleaning company in Al Baha.
Cleaning Arabic floor seating and majlis sets
Arabic majlis cleaning starts from SAR 420 for about 12 metres of seating and covers the floor cushions, back rests, arm bolsters and small pillows. We work on each piece where it sits, vacuuming the cushions lengthwise and crosswise, then cleaning the back rests from the top where heads rest, then the ends and corners where food crumbs and seeds collect.

Arabic seating in Al Baha often uses printed or embroidered fabrics in strong colours such as red, burgundy and navy, and these are more likely to bleed if soaked. So we test every colour in a hidden corner, reduce water on embroidered sections and rely on light injection with double extraction.
Some majlis sets have removable covers, which are easier: we check the fabric label, and if it allows washing the covers can be washed separately while the foam inside is cleaned with vacuuming and dry steam. Thick cushions that cannot be unzipped are never soaked; they are cleaned from the surface with strong extraction so no moisture stays in the foam.
Tip for occasions
Book the majlis clean two or three days before the occasion, not on the day itself, so it dries and airs completely and the fabric recovers its feel before guests arrive.
Removing stains from upholstery and majlis seating in Al Baha
Stain removal starts with knowing the stain, because each one needs a different product and method. Arabic coffee, tea and milk usually come out with a mild enzyme product followed by extraction; grease and sweets need a degreaser before washing; and ink and pen marks need a spot solvent applied to the stain alone.

The most common majlis stains and how they are handled:
| Stain | Method | Expected result |
|---|---|---|
| Arabic coffee and tea | Enzyme product, then extraction | Usually removed unless very old |
| Oud oil and incense | Light oil solvent, then washing | Fades a lot and the smell drops |
| Sweets, dates and date syrup | Warm water and a sugar remover | Removed with repeated treatment |
| Ink and pens | Spot solvent on cotton wool | Fades; a faint mark may remain |
| Henna and dyes | Repeated spot treatment | Usually fades without vanishing |
| Children’s stains and vomit | Cold water, then enzyme product | Removed together with the smell |
Oud oil is one of the most common stains in majlis rooms across the region: a heavy oil that the fabric soaks up, leaving a dark halo. It must not be washed with water first because water spreads it; it is treated with an oil solvent on cotton wool, working from the outside in, and only then is the area washed. An old stain that has dried for months may fade without disappearing, and we tell you so before starting.
Warning
Do not try household stain removers or bleach on majlis fabric without testing; many stains that will not come out were set by a home product, or the product changed the colour of the fabric around them.
Drying the majlis after washing in Al Baha
A majlis usually dries within hours of washing on the same day, as long as the water is extracted well and there is airflow. We rely on three steps: an extra extraction pass after washing to pull out as much water as possible, brushing the fabric and standing cushions and pillows upright, then drying fans aimed at the floor cushions and back rests on cold days.

Drying in Al Baha depends on the season. In winter and on foggy days it takes longer, so we use less water and more extraction, and suggest running the heating or the AC on heat mode and leaving the majlis door open for airflow. In summer the air is milder and drying is faster, especially with windows open in the morning. In Qilwah, Al Mikhwah and the rest of Tihama the climate is warmer and drying is usually quicker.
A majlis that stays damp for long can develop a smell or rings on the fabric, so we do not leave until the pieces are damp rather than wet, and we explain when you can sit on them and when to put the pillows back.
Majlis fabric types and what suits each
The fabric decides the cleaning method, the amount of water and the temperature; the stain table above is not enough on its own without knowing the fabric. The most common majlis and sofa fabrics in homes are:
- Cotton and linen: tolerate extraction and steam, with care for shrinkage in removable covers.
- Synthetic velvet: washes well, with the pile brushed one way afterwards.
- Silk velvet and luxury chenille: very little water and light steam after a test.
- Microfibre and faux suede: little water to avoid rings, and brushing once dry.
- Embroidered and printed fabrics: colour-fastness tested first, light injection and double extraction.
- Natural and faux leather: never heavily wetted; a dedicated cleaner, then conditioner for natural leather.
Majlis cleaning steps, from inspection to handover
- Inspection and testing: fabric type, colour-fastness, existing stains and any previous damage.
- Protecting the room: a cover laid under the pieces, and wood, gilding and nearby rugs protected.
- Deep vacuuming: floor cushions, back rests, seams and under the cushions.
- Stain treatment: each stain with its own product before the general wash.
- Washing: hot-water extraction or dry steam depending on the fabric.
- Drying: extra extraction, brushing, airing and fans where needed.
- Handover: reviewing the pieces with you and reworking any remaining stain.

Tell us the type of majlis and its rough length or the number of sofa pieces, the fabric, and the date of any occasion.
Request the serviceCleaning outdoor seating in courtyards and on roofs
Outdoor seating cleaning starts from SAR 135 and covers courtyard and roof sofas and seating under shades. These pieces face dust, rain, leaves and bird droppings, so we start with a dry brush and strong vacuuming, wash the fabric, clean metal, wooden or rattan frames with soap and water, and leave the pieces in the open air to dry.
To keep them clean longer, cover them with waterproof covers in the rainy season and bring the pillows indoors on damp nights; a pillow left wet overnight develops black damp spots that are hard to remove.
Cleaning leather sofas and luxury velvet
Leather sofas are not washed with extraction and steam is never aimed straight at them, because water and heat dry natural leather until it cracks and loses its sheen. We first wipe away dust with a soft cloth, then clean with a dedicated leather cleaner applied to a microfibre cloth rather than directly to the sofa, lift dirt from stitching and folds with a soft brush, and finish with a conditioner for natural leather that restores its suppleness. Faux leather needs only the cleaner and a dry wipe.
Silk velvet and hand-embroidered fabric are among the most valuable things in a majlis, and we work on them with the least possible water, test a hidden area first and avoid rubbing entirely. If we see that a piece cannot be cleaned safely in place, we tell you honestly before any work.
How to choose a majlis and sofa cleaning company in Al Baha
Choose a company that asks about the fabric, the length of the majlis and the number of pieces before setting a price, tests colours before washing, and explains which stains will come out and which will only fade. Ask: how long will the pieces take to dry? Do you use strong extraction after washing? What do you do with gilded wood and embroidery?
A serious company does not promise to remove every stain whatever it is, and does not soak the majlis and leave; it stays until the pieces are damp rather than wet and reviews the result with you before leaving.
When does a majlis need cleaning?
A majlis used for receiving guests needs cleaning once or twice a year, usually before Ramadan, Eid and the season of occasions. It needs more if there are small children at home or if the majlis is used daily as a family sitting room.
Signs that it is time include back-rest fabric darker than the rest, a lingering smell of coffee or incense in the room, cushions that have lost their loft because of dust compressed inside them, or scattered stains that grow with every gathering.
Preparing the majlis before Ramadan, Eid and occasions
The busiest times for majlis cleaning are the weeks before Ramadan, the two Eids and the wedding season, because the majlis will receive more guests than usual for several days in a row. In these seasons we advise booking early, and making the clean cover the majlis, the rug beneath it and the curtains around it, so no clean piece sits beside a dull one.
Straight after an occasion, a quick treatment of fresh stains before they dry and set is worthwhile, especially coffee, sweets and oud oil; a stain treated in its first days comes out far more easily than one that is a month old.

We clean majlis sets and sofas in Al Baha city districts such as Al Dhafir, Raghdan, Shahbah and Al Hawiyah, in Al Aqiq, Al Qura and Bani Hassan, and in towns with their own cleaning pages such as cleaning in Baljurashi, cleaning in Sabt Al Alaya and cleaning in Qilwah.
If you want the whole house cleaned along with the majlis, from the kitchen and bathrooms to the glass and floors, book the full cleaning service in Al Baha so it is all done in one visit.
Tips to keep the majlis clean
- Turn and swap cushions and pillows every two weeks so wear is spread evenly.
- Put a tray under coffee pots and tea glasses instead of setting them on the cushions.
- Vacuum the majlis weekly with a soft brush so dust does not get pressed into the foam.
- Keep incense burners away from fabric and place them on a table; charcoal and oils leave stains.
- Blot any spill immediately with a dry tissue rather than rubbing it.
- Use light fabric covers on back rests for daily use and wash them regularly.
